I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

To be honest with you, it does make Christmas much more enjoyable!  I do enjoy getting the old snow blower out, helping out the widow that lives two doors down, using the four wheel drive on the truck for something other then mud!

Just drive carefully!  You guys down south don't have the snow removal equipment for the highways that we've got, and in a few days it’s all gone…..

We really do handle snow around here pretty well. DOH does a good job with the Interstate and most US and State Rts, it's the county routes that come last and if you are going out in the boonies you are hurtin. Seems like the freezing rain is the thing that causes most of the accidents around here, people just kinda seem to forget how to drive. Then there is the snow dragging the power lines down and then it takes weeks to get everyone back on line. I remember liking the snow when I was a kid but now I would not mind if it never snows again.

Here in AZ, the ski resorts are open up in the high country. However, I had to open the vents on my jacket on the way home. It was about 74 and just too hot for the riding coat.

Yep, and I live in a remote area. Was outside earlier and could hear limbs breaking. I used to love snow. Used to go sledding, skiing, tubing and all that other stuff. Heck, I used to like to go for a walk in the woods while it was snowing. So quiet and peaceful. But I got over it.

90 miles!!! Is that all ? I've driven from Western NC to Fort Bragg (at least 200  miles one way) and back in a blizzard. And from NC to Long Island, NY back in the early 70's. From Baltimore on I drove in a heavy snow. Just because I can drive in it don't mean I have to like it.  I used to love it. And if you enjoy it so much I hope you get several feet at least.  Smiley

We are smack in the middle of the storm! It started snowing about 3:30pm and we have about 7 inches of the stuff on the ground already. They are calling for 18 - 24 inches before all is done.  Shocked
To make matters worse, Joanne had to go into work tonight, and she packed extra clothes in case the hospital wouldn't let her come home in the morning. tickedoff
Hell, it's been so long since we have had any measureable snow, I had to go out to the garage to see if I even owned a snow shovel. Shocked
Oh well, I guess I'll have to see if I remember how to shovel that crap in the morning.
Later,

Only one inch here in NE Indiana and that's just right.  After all these years of Indiana winters, I don't need even one inch of snow.

I think that Indiana weather is up to something.  The South getting all that snow and not much here..........yet.

Just got a call .... " Stay around a phone "  Sad   The wet snow is taking out trees that in turn are taking out powerline's and I may have to go to work. The company I work for sells power in 8 states with southern Virginia and parts of western North Carolina that seems to be the area hardest hit with trees falling .We have zero amount on the ground here in the Knoxville area.

Well, we ended up with about 14 inches total! I got to know my snow shovel very well again.
Later,
TomT

It took me about 2.5 hours to dig this far or about a third of my driveway. After about another hour or so, a guy came along with a snowblower and finished it up for $10.00! cooldude cooldude

Well, we got some two feet so far and it has not stopped or even slowed, 5hrs with the snow thrower, and I got 4" behind me when I'm done.  Had to come in and eat.  I am sore, and may be done for the day.

If I see Santa, Imuna smack him.

Damn Jess, Where in VA are you?? You need to clear a path to that hot tub! This used to be my favorite time of the year to use it when I had mine!
Be careful, and stay warm!

Fairfax County, 7 miles south of the beltway surrounding Sodom on the Potomac.

I did clean a path to it, several times.  It is still snowing, nonstop.... since last night.

It is winterized and empty.  It has been nice in Winters past, but I got tired of the maintenance and electric expense.

This is the proper way to remove snow. You need a Wife with a really big shovel.
