Harley Davidson has apparently cut ties with a Dealership in TN due to statements that the owner supposedly posted on social media. Honda and Polaris are said to be cutting ties as well. But I found part of Harley Davidson's statement particularly interesting:

Quote
Racism, hate or intolerance have no place in our world including within the Harley-Davidson community, employees, dealers or riders. We recently became aware of racist comments posted on one of our dealer owner’s Facebook page and immediately started a review process. We will not tolerate this type of behavior in our network, and we have announced that the dealer owner in question will no longer be part of our dealer network. Harley-Davidson is committed to diversity and inclusion. We strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone.

So, is there a racist exam that future Harley buyers will have to pass before they can purchase a new Harley?

If someone owns a Harley and they are identified as or self identify as a racist will they be required to sell their bike?

Will Harley Davidson be obligated to purchase the bike back from them?

I just found it very interesting that they chose to include "Riders" in their statement.

In my mind someone didn't think that through very well.

The owner states he never made those comments. Could be an angry employee or a dissatisfied customer hacked the owners account.

They also chose to include "in our world".  Smiley I think you are reading too much into their statement.

So what’s going to happen when a “rider” with an HA vest comes in?

Either that or Harley Davidson thinks that they are the motorcycle world.

I'm sure they do ! But the way I took their statement was, racism shouldn't happen anywhere and we are not going to tolerate it from anyone we are in business with.

Ok, there is my point.

How do they think that they can control what their rider's think?

By adding the word riders, The brush that they paint their statement with becomes much wider than they can control.

While Harley stands on it high ground they should remember this

The quote, which disparaged Mr. Trump’s understanding of trade and economics, was being spread by some accounts with very few followers, but quickly went viral. The company was inundated with queries about its veracity.

Michael Pflughoeft, a spokesman for Harley-Davidson, said that the anti-Trump quote linked to the company’s chief executive that was circulating on Twitter in various forms was “absolutely, unequivocally fake and false.”

They were right about something though, the public did forget this:

Harley-Davidson Inc. plans to shift more production overseas to avoid European Union tariffs on its iconic motorcycles, the latest manufacturer to reconfigure operations amid a widening global trade fight.

Harley prizes its made-in-the-USA reputation as central to its appeal to customers all over the world. But the Milwaukee company has opened factories in Brazil, India and Australia to tap international markets and hold down prices as sales falter in the U.S.

All this after Trump held them up as a good company and they essentially spit in his face:

Many are still in disbelief about this decision, considering Harley-Davidson is touted as an all-American icon. President Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan have even made the company into a poster-child for the Trump administration’s trade policies.

To me the Harley's look nice and I have ridden a few, but I would not own one. But it seems many would since there is a thriving market out there for them. The company seems two faced or hypocritical and like its a political ploy, but what else is new with the new company policies screwing the American people and trying to dictate political correctness, when they themselves mostly have been a cesspool of moral dogma.  Just add Harley to that list of sold out companies that I would not buy from.

Pretty hypocritical of a company that sells bikes to people who really can't afford or shouldn't be financed with predatory loans. Whatever it takes to sell a Harley.
