And what outrageous thing happened today? Equal opportunity for all political persuasions. Rather than a continuous line of political posts that many times devolve to being locked, make your thoughts and comments of the most recent here and maybe see more Valkyrie posts on the first page? With InZane just around the corner and the riding season in full bloom for much of the country there should be plenty to talk about and pictures to share. I have to admit since I’m still not riding I can’t contribute much but I promise to read your posted exploits.

I’ve actually reached a news overload personally and have no interest in Trumps latest tweets or what Don Lemon has to say about them and so forth. But some happenings of the day just have to be explored and discussed. I probably should have waited to post this until something really ticked me off to kick the thread off. All I’ve got for today is, due to COVID-19 (I suppose) I have to wait over 2 months for my new kitchen appliance can arrive. But even that is better than a week ago when I was being told they didn’t know when they would be available.

I ordered my kitchen cabinets in May and still don’t have them all. I’m making a run tomorrow to a warehouse 100 miles away to pick up a few filler strips and a couple of pieces of trim so I can continue to install what I have. When I finally finish this remodel I won’t know what to do with my time, but I’m sure something will come to mind.

Photo for affect, guys being visual learners and all

Ah Ha-NOT political but-well-draw yer own contusions. My Brother-daprez-went into Home Depoy earlier today in Crystal Lake Il. and they had a sign posted-exact change please or use a plastic card for purchase please. And being as Ross was returning items no money changed hands but Ross inquired-coin shortage? To which the cashier responded-I personally have No idea as to the why of a coin shortage but there is one here. Anyone else in Our Fair Country up against a similar situation?

About all I can say is that what you got, looks good!

There is a coin shortage? Really? Where did all the coins go?

What's going to get dreamed up next?

Same here in Richmond Ky. I have seen signs asking for exact change. Lowe’s says they will have to give you store credit if you don’t have the exact change. While I never thought it would become a habit for me, I almost never spend cash for anything. Credit cards for every purchase! This started for me with gas stations making you pay before you pump which I didn’t care for at all. My cashless living just expanded from there, mostly due to online bill paying. I write a check every month for my water bill because the payment company that accepts your payment charges a fee to use the service. I still keep cash on hand but find few uses on a day to day basis.

I think what’s happening is people haven’t been out shopping as before COVID a so there just aren’t as many transactions taking place. Not sure how that affects the banks supply though. When I worked retail we would have to get about $100 a day in rolled coins to make change with, but that’s been 30 years ago.

no coin shortage, just people in charge not smart enough to have rolls of change readily available for the new day is all it is.  If I did not want to pay with my credit card and handed the guy a 20 dollar bill for a 3 dollar item,  they best give me change back. If not,  toss it in their face and leave the store.

Most people though like me use credit card and a lot more are going to debit cards also.  I use to go thru 100 bucks cash in a few weeks long ago, now lucky if I go thru 100 cash in my wallet in 3 months, unless the wife sneaks money out of my wallet for her odds and ends not telling me...  been there done that. I test rode the black bike around the block today, after putting back
on the good handlebars and getting the windshield back on there.
It sounds easy, but it was a big flipping deal getting the windshield
mounted the way I like it and routing stuff so that the throttle is free
from lock-to-lock and the steering head doesn't pinch the clutch line.

Maybe I'll ride it to my part time job on Friday, if it does right, I'll
probably ride it to InZane.

I bet there's no coin shortage, they just don't want to be trading things back and forth at the registers.

Money (mostly folding) is reportedly as dirty germy as it gets.

At some point, I remember reading that all folding money in FL had cocaine on it.  But I digress.

John, not sure how you pay bills online but I just use the bank and nothing or nobody else. No 3rd party like a payment company to process any of my payments. My daughter used to do all hers using each creditor's website and often paid a fee. I told her how I did it, just do everything through her bank. Period! She wasn't aware that could be done, I don't know of any bank or credit union that won't do that for you....even to the point of sending a check for you direct to the creditor if that creditor doesn't do business electronically. Been doing it for years....no fees, no 3rd party handlers. I've never used a creditor's website to pay a bill, it's always the bank. They screw us enough these days, let them earn it.

Only part of it - the handlebars! It is great for them to
float there weightlessly after I take the riser caps off  cooldude ...

I used to put a swingset frame over my bike and tie the handlebars
to the top-bar of the frame with hay-bail twine, but I'm
uptown now...

In the early 70s I was in the shop area of the Honda Shop and
XXXX XXXX lifted a CB750 with just one ankra strap hooked to
the fork-lift.

Beating dead horses.  Hmmm?

My female life partner was discussing someone she doesn't particularly like, "He talks down to women like they're inferior, like they don't really matter."  I thought about that for a minute and realized that I don't like women to talk to me as if they assume they're up to or above my level.  Right away I had a surreptitious insight into the basis of some of our relationship issues.

Actually I don't much like some men doing that either.   Smiley

Mike, are those handlebars held in place with a clamp or are they bolted directly to the tree? If a clamp is used, one day it will slip and down comes the bike. Curious minds and all that.  Wink

I'm not sure what you're saying... in the picture my bike is
standing in a front-wheel chock, not lifted. The riser caps
are off, in preparation for removing the bars, and the bars
are suspended from a joist with the tie-downs.

I can see how your position might cause some friction. Sometimes when my wife says something that hits me the “wrong” way I do something in the way I smile and gaze at her that can really set her off. Of course all very innocent on my part. Married 48 years come August and she still thinks I might change.

I like several above use the bank to pay my bills.   Been doing so for several years.  Works great.  Never have use the venders billing sites to pay bills.   Especially the utility companies.

Also use Credit/Debit cards for 96% plus of my purchases.   Only use cash for a few items like car washes.

I haven’t jumped on the Debit card bandwagon yet. I like the 2% rebate on my Discover card which isn’t much but it adds up over time.

My axe to grind for today. Ed Henry has been fired from his job at Fox News for alleged sexual discrimination in some years past by a former employee. Is he guilty? Ed says no. But like Bill O’Reilly he’s gone. He’s had issues before but I hate seeing someone convicted and punished over allegations. I thought Ed was one of the good guys having sacrificed part of his liver last year to save his sisters life. Oh well, this too shall pass.

I'm not sure if this qualifies for the thread or not. But here it comes. I've often felt there was much corruption in the healthcare field, pharmaceuticals in particular. But after reading this story, it has dawned on me what a huge part doctors are playing in this. And maybe even nurses, office workers. Surely they knew of this ?

Do we have a winner? In the dead horse category that is. I noticed that our community COVID be getting real thread is approaching 2000 replies. After all the discussion, it appears all we can conclude is that COVID is just another political football to divide us into different camps.

My view is that COVID should have and should be viewed as an attack on our country much as 9-11 was an attack. COVID should have had Americans close ranks and and present a unified front. Richmond Kentucky wasn’t attacked on 9-11 but I was just as outraged as anyone with the perpetrators.

You're right, we should have been able to come together on this kung flu issue. But as usual we were lied to. The communist chinese lied to us. There is a faction here that seem to be in love with the chinese. There is definitely a segment that loves division. So these just had to be taken advantage of. Its succeeded.

As fas as thrills go, this will cause your pucker string to tighten up considerably. I spent a good part of the day on top of this scaffold chipping away at loose mortar preparing to do some tuck pointing and grouting.

The scaffolding has support bars that should be fasten to the house. My bro just spent a year replacing all his windows on his 3 story house using the same thing.

You’re right but the weather was right and I have been procrastinating too long on this project. I found out that there are hand rails made for this type of scaffolding but no has any in stock but they would have went a long way increasing my comfort level. I wasn’t concerned about the scaffolding falling away from the the house, but the wiggles made me nervous without the handrails. Got to get back up there today and hopefully finish.

Looks like you have two or three levels of scaffolding. I googled
"scaffolding erection" DON'T DO THIS and found that scaffolding
only needs to be tied back every two layers, so that's how I
did mine...
