I'm switching over to LED lights on the '98 Standard. I know what I'm going to do with the 7" stock light, but I also have two 4 1/2" passing lights that take an H3 bulb. There's a wide variety available and a wide opinion on how bright they really are.

I'm not going to be driving at night. My only concerns are 1) being seen in the daylight, 2) lowering the load through the starter switch, and 3) making life easier for the alternator.

Any opinions on the best H3 LED bulbs?
Thanks,
George

The brightest H3 bulbs I've found in LED are these: https://www.diodedynamics.com/h3-cob12-leds-pair.html
But, they are only 86 lumens, while the 55W halogen bulbs are over 1000 lumens. They've been promising brighter since I bought mine, but so far, nothing. They are a brilliant white, so are visible during the day, just don't expect them to light up the road much at night.

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone think it's worth the trouble to install a relay if I've got LEDs in all 3 lights?

I replaced the 55-Watt H3 Halogen Bulbs in my Spotlights with 50-Watt, High Performance, H3 LED 360 Bulbs. Used Pathfinder - Part No. H3C50W, Pure White -6000K.
The new bulbs will have a lower load on alternator. They are BRIGHT WHITE, Light Up the road at night, and no resistors are needed.
If I remember correctly, they cost about $60 dollars from JP Cycle.
I am very pleased with them.

Did someone say LED?

Just an FYI - The extremely popular Daymaker LEDs can be installed our beloved Valkyries.

Email me ValkyrieJosh@gmail.com if you are interested in the upgrade.
