As stated in my other post on dads books I have decided since the sales from the Rally in Asheville were low that I would continue to add the profits to donations for the Charity from book sales to VRCC members. Price is $13 for book and $4 for shipping...

My wife,Twila and I were unable to attend the banquet on Thursday night so I was unable to give the money to the charity in person. So I am combining the profits from the rally with the profits from books sales to VRCC members. So far with a few sales before the rally, the rally and the sales so far since we have raised just over $400 for the Veterans Restoration Quarters. A few member have even payed more then the cost of the books. Any money spent above the cost of the book will go towards the charity.

So for the next two weeks any profits from sales to VRCC members will go to the ABCCM Veterans Restoration Quarters charity. The cutoff will be August 8th. After that I will contact the charity and present them the donation in the name of the VRCC and my father Wayne A Doenges. AKA Solo1.

So lets get this done. I have filled quite a few book orders that last couple of days. A bunch went out yesterday and some more will go out today. So if you already have ordered a book give it at least a week (you know how slow the postal service can be) and if you have not received it contact me, I have the tracking numbers for the orders.

UPDATE. I spoke to the post office. They are saying the books may take two to three weeks to deliver. Jeez I could get on my bike and hand deliver them in person and do it faster then that. LOL. Talk about "snail mail"...

Yes he would Chris. I read my copy from cover to cover as soon as I got home with it and I keep the book on the table next to my recliner to occasionally reread some of the stories. Your Dad told me some of those stories verbally and it's nice to relive them in print.

Got it on time!  It'll be good re-reading some stories, and enjoying some for the first time.  Like the old thumpers with questionable headlights.  Grin.  His stories were colorful for sure, and a blast to read!

I realize you couldn't do pictures here, but I sure enjoyed some of his old photos he'd post.  I was belly laughing when I saw the pic he snapped (?) on his Korea stint of the "chow hound" in midair "flight" for grub, and your dad's hilarious description of this character.   2funny I've gotta look and see if that picture is still in the archives here...

The book is on the bedside stand, I read a few stories at night.  It's a keeper!

Ok. Tomorrow is the last day to buy my dad's books and have the profits go to Veterans Restoration Quarters in Asheville.  I have sent a few PMs to members that had sent me messages previous to Inzane. Just waiting for responses.

I will contact the charity next week and make the donation. I will post later on what the final amount is.
