My no nonsense review of both products.
Let me start by saying I have installed both on different Valkyrie's. I installed the Jersey on my brother's Valkyrie and the Shift Buddy on mine due to my Rattlebars kick Shifter. The Jersey will NOT work with a kick shifter without modifying the shifter by cutting off part of the loop. I was not going to do that so I got the Shift Buddy for mine that WILL work with a kick shifter.

Lets start with the Jersey. Nice piece. Made of stainless and cleanly cut. Installation is a bit more complicated then the Buddy. You will need to remove the engine guard bolt nearby and use the supplied bolt when you install the bracket. Then remove the shift lever.  You will have to drill a hole in the shift lever and the adjustment is more complex. After installation, some minor adjustments are needed and you can see most of the piece. But due to its stainless construction it looks nice.

Now onto the Shift Buddy. You will need to remove the same engine guard bolt as the Jersey. A bolt is not supplied but the original bolt can be reused. Remove the shift lever from the shaft. Slide the Buddy onto the shift shaft. reinstall the guard bolt and spacer with the Buddy between. Reinstall the shift lever and tighten the Buddy set screw on the shaft. That's it. The Buddy is powder coated instead of stainless but you really cant see it unless you're looking for it.

After performing a test ride on both bikes I found that both products fixed the same problem the Valkyrie's have. The sloppiness is gone and shifts are more precise. Neutral is easier to find.
Bottom line both products fixed the problems. The Jersey is better looking with its stainless Construction then the Buddy's powder coating. But since you cant see the Buddy unless you look for it its not a problem. The Jersey is $70.00 and the Buddy is $50.

Well there is my review of both shift brackets. Take it with a grain of salt.

I've got the Buddy on Ruby, and it definitely cleaned up the slop.

Do you know if either one of them will work if you've replaced the OEM shifter with the CBR1100 one?
