Very sad,  He was a voice of sanity in a insane university system. They have been battling him for 20 yrs.
and he won many court cases for freedom of speech and thought against crazy administrators at UNC.
Rest in peace Mike, I always admired your fighting sprit.

Why didn't he just retire and get away from all the craziness.

Isn't a small caliber handgun round into the back of the head the way suicides are done today.
