Nice evening. Took a nice ride to the dam.
Never seen water so low nothing coming over the spillway  The breeze in that spot where we took this pic was very refreshing indeed

There were loads of wild wineberries (like raspberries) and the girls were pickin and eatin them like the treat that they are
Here is Bonnie waving at a big stand on the way down the footpath to the base of the dam spillway

Fine dinner and then ice cream along the Hudson.

Now back home where Sheila is gonna make Pralines

Life is good.

Tomorrow we are going across the goat trail and over bear mtn bridge to fort montgomery, the cliff road north of West Point, see if perkins drive is open then 7 lakes to 6/17 so they can book it to Niagara Falls on the most scenic interstate in the lower tier of the state

Pics later I hope from Dennis to prove I was there

This morning we rode up the Goat Trail to Fort Montgomery and walked to the cannon emplacements and thru the museum It is a powerful moment when you stand behind the 32lb cannon and the view of the Hudson below.  I think they enjoyed the history and the cool weather under the trees.  Decided not to go to the cliff road so they could boogie on down the road sooner than later

So we went down to the roundabout along the north side of Bear Mtn and then at the next circle got off for the 7 Lakes Parkway, no other vehicles whatsoever about so very peaceful and the temps in upper 70s in the mountain lakes.  We stopped at Lake Sebago
for a spell and I said to them that route 106 which is my favorite road in the area has apparently re-opened so we took that clear out to route 17.

Then I rode with them as far as Woodbury and they continued west toward Binghamton/Syracuse and Niagara Falls where they should arrive before dinnertime and I went east on 6 up over the mountains between there and Bear Mtn and then back to Ossining before noon

I must be one of the luckiest guys alive as Sheila made a large batch of Pralines just for me  Only ate 3 so far as I am pacing myself   Grin   It was sure great to spend time with two of the nicest folks you could ever meet.

I told them to take 23 north to Ann Arbor to avoid the 75 construction.

He will call you tonight to see if that is correct or if they should go further west

I think tonight they will be somewhere between Niagara Falls and Erie Pa with only about 630 miles to go by Friday noon

Thanks OSS -  I-75 North into MI, then I-275 North, to - West to US-23 at Ann Arbor is the easiest way to describe it, although, personally, I would take a bunch of backroads and avoid the HWYs.

If you leave now, you can still make it. I had them hold off on the wind and heat just for you!
