Seems we are having a little trouble on the Duffy Lake Road. 2 accidents this month, with 3 dead.

I didn't read the stories, but heard them on the radio yesterday. Seems 2 dead on the 5th, and one on the 26th, in the same spot. The links seem to show them at different spots, but after Mt Currie and Lillooet Lake.

I know people like to challenge that road, but you can see what the results can be.

I've always gone up the Canyon in the cooler morning, and back down 99 along the Sound for the cooler afternoon.

I heard about those accidents and it is very sad!

I always ride the Duffey Loop counter clockwise as well. The first time I did that ride this season, Duffey Lake was still frozen.

The road goes uphill after Lillooet and was clean. When it changes to go downhill again and following the river, that's where there is ALWAYS a lot of gravel on the road. This goes on all the way to Joffrey Lakes, after that it gets better again.

Apparently there was some work done to the sides of the road. Cars/RVs/trucks with trailers are cutting the corners and bringing all the gravel on the road again.

I hope other riders took note of those tragedies and will pay attention on those roads.

I ride way too far, fast, often... to ride anything else but a VALKYRIE!!!
