VRCC #437 "Form follows Function"

Colorado Front Range - elevation 2.005 km

WWW
« on: July 30, 2020, 08:31:13 AM »

Have an inbound package of meds I NEED that was in the Denver Distribution Center at 12:48 noon SUNDAY per their tracking.  Hasn't moved since - it's now Thursday and is STILL not in our local P.O.  It was supposed to be a FAST shipment for needed meds which I'm OUT. No I can't get an emergency supply as the Rx has been "filled" - CVS is unbending on their rules - This pain Rx was last filled on 11/29/19 and I've been getting by as I had accumulated a surplus by rationing - the pushback from CVS is unbelievable for this mild schedule 4 Rx. The USPS excuse is "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility."  That's been their boilerplate baloney for days now. They blame it all on Covid - but this is beyond the pale. The soonest it can arrive now is 118 HOURS - from Denver, around 30 miles. I could CRAWL from there to here at least TWICE in that time.  And I'm old.  Been patient enough - I'm in pain constantly - this is CRAP.  AVOID USING THE USPS IF IT'S IMPORTANT.  I HATE the gov't - just another example of why.  I'll spare you the rest, if you're "experienced" you know.

That's bullcrap, Mark.  I guess they are figuring if your pain gets too much you can start chugging whiskey or something?

When tracking packages recently I have seen on their site to expect delays:

Alert: Due to limited transportation availability as a result of nationwide COVID-19 impacts, package delivery times may be extended. Priority Mail Express® service will not change.

Medications should be exempted, or at least prioritized.

Hope you get the stuff and some relief soon.

I get my diabetic supplies from Diathrive out in Utah. They have so far always shipped USPS priority soon enough far enough ahead that I get my supplies (test strips mostly) well before I need them. I have lancets coming out my ears (I usually use 4-6 times before changing - when they start to hurt its time to change - but I bet the instructions say everytime).

I get my other meds in time generally - it's these sched 4 opioides - that relieve pain - that CVS gives pushback even with appropriate Dr's Rx paperwork - and so my reserve that I built by rationing has run out.  This hasn't been refilled since 11/29 and supposed to be 90 day supply.  And now it's the post office dragging their feet - though it was supposed to be a fast shipment.

My diabetes supplies are in plentiful supply, as well as everything else.  Though I haven't changed my lance needle in ages.  I just clean it - it's the spring loaded lancer tool with the OneTouch kit.  Yeah it hurts a little but it always works.  Now I've got the new Dexcom transmitting stay-on continuous monitor kit.  So the OneTouch will be obsolete as soon as I get going on that - today.

Isn't it fun getting old? Got several problems from genetics - they bypassed my siblings and all targeted me. And I have extra issues thanks to Uncle Sugar and his poisoning with Agent Orange.  Not to mention I asked for trouble by smoking for 20 years - and recreational drugs in my stupid years.  Now my drug use isn't for fun - it's to keep me on the right side of the lawn.  Like Mickey Mantle said "If I knew I was going to live this long I'd have taken better care of myself"

Sent Kali to the post office today to mail a package.

Took her over 45 minutes to navigate the process of getting a box, addressing it and getting it sent off.

She said the workers were some of the most surly, rude uncaring workers she's ever dealt with.

I reminded her to remember this when her friends say government should run health care.

Mark so far the V A has gotten my meds to me on time using usps. BUT-ya just KNEW there were a but involved!  2funny It showed an amazon thing I ordered as originatimg in Cinncinati Oh. on I believe 16 july this year. It languished there in Oh. for a number of days. Then my pkg goes to Jamaica ny. Then pkg goes to Newark nj. Where it languishes fer a couple more days. According to the tracking info my pkg is in Springfield Mo and has left Springfield Mo. this afternoon. Course we KNOW that don't mean a cursed thing. Might be headin fer Miami!  tickedoff I'll revisit this thred When and IF my pkg shows up on my doorstep. NO my pkg is NOT a matter of health or really all that important It's just as a former trucker If the companies I drove for ran their business as the usps do they would have been Out of business within 6 months or less of opening. To others-I live in South central Missouri. I'm bout 85 miles Due East of Springfield Mo. Perusing a map Will highlight my splainin. RIDE SAFE.

If you want to find out why your postal service is sub-par these days, look no further than your brand new Postmaster General. You know, the one that has absolutely ZERO experience in the position he now holds. The same one that is a major donor to, you guessed it. He also reportedly has major investments in several competitors to the USPS, like UPS.

His immediate effect on the USPS is cutting out ALL overtime. He is intentionally slowing down the mail service in preparation for the upcoming election. You know, that whole mail in ballot thing.

We're good friends with our local Postmaster, and she says this was immediate and all-encompassing. He's working to make the USPS as inefficient as possible, to get the very reaction you're displaying right now.

I know you're going to call BS on this, but do the research. This is all part of the plan.

https://fortune.com/2020/07/24/usps-mail-delivery-postmaster-general-louis-dejoy-us-postal-service/

And all this on top of the Congress-imposed hardships from 2006. Having to fully fund the pensions of future workers, up to 75 years in advance. There is no shortage of information on this subject.

That was a Bush mandate that Baldo is talking about and it is the real reason for this outrage

The USPS should not be supposed to make a profit, that is not its function

But both parties have abused the poor girl for so long that it seems only us peasants love her

We have some surely and some nice workers here.  No rhyme or reason.

Can you call and drive to Denver to get your package, it should be able to be stopped

Call your congressman, they are good at dealing with bullcrap, after all they generate copious amounts of the stuff

Mark,
I hope for your sake that some grunt postal worker did not recognize the package as coming from a  pharmacy. If that is the case, you will never see it.

I bet the USPS station is not even open, your pkg. just sitting there NO workers to do their jobs.  The local post office in my mom's 1 horse town finally opened up the outside door to get to the PO box to get her mail on weekends like it has been forever.  prior, the front door just to get in the darn post office to get your mail out of their inside PO BOX  was only open 4 hours Monday thru Friday and 2 hours Saturday morning is all.

The part timer when I went to bitch them out in her town did not care she was nice but a very very disgruntled worker who was part time like some are in this area.  Why part time you ask, just like everywhere else employers do not want to pay benefits to anyone so they limit most of their workers to under 30-32 hours per week per year.

best of luck getting your pain meds or try getting some HEMP heard it is legal in some states now which might cut down on the pain.  Just see Willie Nelson,   maybe you can smoke some weed with Willie?

Jim

Such a worker would have to be blind/stupid not to recognize CVS Rx mailings.  No name on the return address but it's always the same, packed in a thin unpadded plastic bag - you can feel the pill bottles and hear them rattle.  And they are HUGE volume so there are thousands of them coming through the P.O. daily.  Less likely to be stolen as they have the same security as plankton or fish schools from predators - simply too many fish to eat this particular one.  Unless the miscreant is a baleen whale.

No progress again right now - still the latest status is unchanged, in the Denver regional mail center.

Good idea!  I heard he's got some good crap.  Except Willy moved, no longer in Evergreen after the feds busted him for back taxes.  Besides - I quit that long ago after I burned myself out; I have asthma so even if I wanted to my lungs won't take it - and then there's this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tJXjt5D4zY

I mailed an oil sample to Blackstone Labs for analysis last month.  It took a full 4 weeks to be delivered.  Apparently the USPS sends them to a special inspection unit of some kind, but 4 weeks is ridiculous.

In defense of the USPS. My wife ordered a faucet for the motorhome on Tuesday, and we recieved it Wednesday. I'm kind of surprised they would even allow pain meds into the postal system. (I hope you get them soon Mark)

IF you think you will want to vote by mail (and I realize Oleman in Oregon has no choice) - get your ballot mailed in to arrive at the counting place a week before election day. CBS did a story last week that sent 100 "sample ballots" to a post office box - about a 97-99% success rate. The POST OFFICE said allow a week before Election day (even if the election workers are saying 3-4 days should be enough).  "This PSA was brought to you by scooperhsd" Smiley

Per USPO tracking STILL hasn't moved out of the Denver regional center.  If it was a med I needed to stay alive - like my heart meds or warfarin - I'd be in bad shape or gone.  As it is I'm just in pain constantly thx to the f'n postal system.  I'm thinking it may eventually start moving again.  I've seen posts on Nextdoor on what to do and several contacts.  I don't think an in-transit package can be intercepted or even found - especially in the incompetent / malfeasant USPO system.

Went on my local usps office here in Willow Springs Mo. today and talked with the nice young lady behind the plexiglas. After agreeing with me my pkg Is on a walk about. she mentioned that while she is NOT positive she'd heard that some of the B M Cs were closed-bulk mail centers. Not All B M Cs are closed but some of them. NOT making excuses for usps but the BMCs are enroute sorting centers. Close those and It puts a crimp in the canary of the entire system.
Also raised the question Why does local mail here-like our city utility bills-go to Spring Field Mo. and then come back to Willow Springs-bout a 170 mile round trip-and N Y L informed me so the bills or whatever could ALL be entered into the computer to see if Willow Springs is getting enough mail to distribute to warrant keeping this office open. Should they decide to close Willow Springs po depending on which others stay open I'll be 20-25 miles from a usps location instead of mere blocks.  Lips Sealed  So whadda ya think of them apples?  2funny RIDE SAFE.

You know some may not appreciate being called Dumbasses when they work their Asses off to deliver your said mail. My wife has been a carrier for 16 yrs now (she works hard and about 10 hrs a day and not getting paid for all 10. They are paid by the # of stops on the route. Of you get done in 3 hrs you make the same as if it takes you 16 hrs)
and you wont believe the stupid SH1T the folks in the crack row apartments accuse her of. Stealing their welfare check because it didnt come on a certain day and all kinds of crazy stuff.
Now if your package is truly at that PO go down there and see what the hell is going on with it.

Also truth be known the government contracts out the mail delivery to the cheapest bid every few years.  So it isn’t government run as you think.
