Nice Bug Al   cooldude I had a 1972 Super Bettle I sold it cause it would freeze you to death in the winter and roast you in the summer ...My ridin' buddy Jack is into VW Buses I cannot believe the asking price on those  Shocked  I rode down toward Nashville with him one day to check out one with all the windows down both sides at the top the dude wanted $5,500.00 for it and it had rust holes in it that you could throw a cat threw  Sad

Gettin tough all over ...This year alone we've had 4 local motorcycle dealerships go belly up ....The one in the photo is where I bought my Suzuki Bandit 1200 S it was a Honda / Suzuki dealer.

Volkswagen also owns Bentley and  its a little upsetting to customers when they spend 250k for a car and it has VW logos on it. They also make the v10 engine for the new Lamborghini Galllardo the  engine for the 1.5 million Bugatti Vyron. Audi is basically a rebaged and repriced VW. Volkswagen because of image tried to market a car costing 90k and couldn't do it because of image. The idea VW always made cheap and good quality cars not super cars or expensive ones so they had to buy other manufactures and show their ability. I like what I see with VW the engines are made well the diagnostics are good and they seem to last. sometimes they do see to have their share of repairs but on the whole are good cars. I have never seen a engine as small as VW makes. The Bently engine is a v12 and its so small that when I opened the hood I couldn't believe it. There is no extra room and the engine compartment is roughly 2.5 feet deep now this is for a v12 engine mind you not even a v8. The engine on some VWs is a v6 it occupies the same room as a 4 cylinder. A good car for a kid or anyone that wants a good car that's inexpensive is the Golf GTI it has power is fun  to drive looks good and with a few mods can blow the doors off quite a cars.

Had a 72 baja bug for 15 yrs. Three motors and two transaxles and I don't know how many miles on the thing. At the end it had dual downdraft carbs, a might large cam, bosh 09 dist. and dual glasspack exhaust. It ran great but sometimes in the winter it had carb icing problems, I had to redirect some of the engine cooling air to the intakes to keep the icing down. One winter I had to scrape ice off the inside of the windshield  while driving home from work it had no heat or defrosters. I wouldn't mind having it again.
