I set a rag with alcohol on it, on a seat.  It soaked into the vinyl and weakened it. Now later a cpl small cracks have shown up at the end of the damage.  What product will hold the cracks together so they won't run, won't further damage the vinyl or be visible?

Satin clear nail polish.
Even comes w/ an applicator brush in the bottle!
Shop around for Satin; most commonly available is high-gloss.
Would be more visible.
Hope that helps!

Mark , there are several over the counter vinyl product repair kits available. Marinas or auto parts stores.

Is this surface vinyl, does it have an under support? There is a lot on youtube on fixing your seats.

Alcohol to clean. Clear caulking to fill. Vinyl spray paint to colour or change it. Work with leather seats too. Cracks and holes.

I could be a smartass and say stop drill it, but I digress.

As an upholsterer, I haven't seen much that will help vinyl once it's compromised. The suggestions made are good for short term, longer if it's not in a stress/flexing area.

I ordered a tube of the Plastidip stuff, seems to be a temp repair to stop it walking.  When it gets worse I will have it recovered off season.  It's kept inside.  The cracks are very small now but it's compromised, will worsen.  It's a Russell.  Not cheap.

THERE'S THAT DANG 10MM!!!
