Hmmm, why am I seeing this as an additive in some breads on the market shelf?

one example

Ingredients:
ingredients: enriched wheat flour [flour, malted barley flour, reduced iron, niacin, thiamin mononitrate (vitamin b1), riboflavin (vitamin b2), folic acid], water, yeast, salt, sugar, soybean oil, calcium propionate (preservative), datem, monoglycerides, soy lecithin, citric acid, wheat gluten, potassium iodate, grain vinegar.

Potassium iodate is a food ingredient that oxidizes and strengthens gluten protein bonds in bread dough almost immediately after mixing. It accelerates the reactions which allow the bread to rise during baking.

it is expensive and is used for radioactive fallout.  Potassium Iodate (KiO3) in the event of fallout will saturate a person’s thyroid gland with stable (“good”) iodine so the radioactive iodine cannot be absorbed by the thyroid.
never seen it listed before. also FDA raised the RDA for potassium last yr to a level which cannot be attained through normal eating.

Now I'm all confused.

Is the FDA sneaking this stuff into our bread, so we'll be prepared for an impending nuclear blast?   ???

Should I hold off eating bread and baked flour goods forever?

Fukushima fallout?

grains aren't good for us anyway. it was always a survival food in times past, and not a staple

If a person buys a processed food and doesn't read and understand the label ingredients. Oh well.

as I suspected it is only recently being used, I read lists all of the time and never saw it before in food products.

While some companies are removing controversial ingredients, their replacements aren’t necessarily much better or all that different. “A number of other companies have switched from potassium bromate (Potassium bromate, a potent oxidizer that helps bread rise, has been linked to kidney and thyroid cancers in rodents. Other countries, including China, Brazil and members of the European Union, have weighed the potential risks and decided to outlaw potassium bromate in food. India banned it in 2016, and the UK has forbidden it since 1990. The Center for Science in the Public Interest petitioned the FDA to ban potassium bromate two decades ago due to cancer concerns,)
to potassium iodate in their bread, but potassium iodate is not well tested and may also pose a slight cancer risk,” Lefferts said. “It might also lead to excessive iodine intake. While iodine is an essential trace element that the body needs, too much can be harmful.”

The World Health Organization has recommended against adding potassium iodate to flour since 1965, yet the EWG lists more than 600 products that include potassium iodate, including Sara Lee hot dog buns, Safeway’s Signature Select whole wheat bread and Oroweat Italian bread.

Myself the only bread I use, people refer to it as Ezekiel Bread, it is a Sprouted Grain Bread. You can find it in the freezer section of large grocery stores. Regular white bread I use it only to block copper
water pipes so I can solder them. What Britman says people should read the ingredients of things before putting them in your mouth. Ypur health id the best investment you will ever make in your life!!!

soybeans are a poison to humans and are from east asia.  During Ezekial times they were not grown where he was.  That is not the original ingredient mix per the gentleman who started the Ezekiel Bread. Ezekial 9 “Also take for yourself wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt.  No wheat gluten which is a modern additive, malted barley is a modern day process to make the bread sweet.   I used to use it, it was course, chewy and not very tasty and did not have soy beans in it. soybeans are not the beans in the bible. sometime in the mid '90s they changed the formula and started putting Food for Life on the package, changed the ingredients to make it more palatable to increase their sales. And that was when I stopped using it.  what I could find out back then max torres the man who started it either died or retired and others took over.

My wife has been sprouting grains for years. It takes about 24/36 hours to get the little white sprout. Then it is dehydrated 24 hours. She then puts it through the grain grinder and has her flour. Your bread is miss leading " flourless " you have to grind it all into flour to make bread. Flour just does not come from wheat any grain you grind up.

While not being the healthiest its not bad and I really don't eat that much of it, I absolutely hate the full grain breads. I'm not a bird and don't enjoy crunching seeds in my sandwiches. Besides grains type of breads stink with peanut butter and jelly.

I am constantly amazed while reading ingredients on packages, automotive coolant goes into so many things.

Here is a couple more choices of this Bread Brand. Did a little checking, and from what I found, it is not the Soy that is the problem, it is the process on Non-Organic Soy that seems to be the ieeuse.  Feel free to correct me! It is a solvent used to process Non-Organic Soy called "Hexane". Check the video for more info. From what I am seeing the soy in this bread don't seem to be an issue because it is Organic Soy Sprouts. But check it out. I am not a promoter, just a user of the bread.

If the soy is unfermented it is a poison to humans. Fermented it is healthy. sprouting is not fermented.
soy shrinks big jim and the twins, that's why celibate monks eat a diet high in soy.
prior to 1996, soy was always classified as an industrial product and unfit for human consumption. after the soy industry paid off enough FDA members it was listed as a food product in 1996.  This can all be looked up.

Soy provides a complete source of dietary protein...

there [is] little evidence to support a beneficial role of soy and soy isoflavones in bone health, cancer, reproductive health, neurocognitive function, and other health parameters....
