has decide to trim $300000.00 from their budget and 100 officers. Chief Carmen Best 55 has elected to retire. the city council decided this even though the Mayor opposed it. wunder could this be the start of a wave of other p ds trimming the budget or flat out defunding The L E Os. THIS will NOT bode well for anybody involved. As an aside just read this on-large sigh here-msn. What EXACTLY are we leaving our Children?  Cry RIDE SAFE.

gotta have thick skin to be a police officer nowadays.  Not many am guessing would want to go into that line of work considering jobs being cut when in fact should be increasing for sure.

You could always be a rent a cop like we have in our one horse town of 1100 people they just have part time officers like 3-4 of them splitting the time per week.  That is not what I would call a secure way of living working part time forever as a police officer nor any other type of profession.  The long time police chief retired a few years ago and guess we cannot afford a full time cop?  Yet another way even our local govt. is cutting costs.   Hey, let us have 3 part time officers and pay NONE benefits nor insurance.

10+ years ago was much easier to find full time employment.  All I see now is 80% or more companies hiring seasonal or temp to permanent after say 6 months as a temp simply because they do not want to pay benefits to anyone.  I took 2 part time jobs in  hopes 1 of the 2 would be full time after doing a GREAT job a few years ago.  Guess what,  I got let go right around that 6 month temp assignment and guess what,  they just hired another temp is all.  Got sick of that in a hurry waste of time where companies not loyal to employees is the way most all companies are nowadays.
