Engine Hanger Removal

Guys,

What the procedure of removing engine hangers?  I have a chromed set made by Rush Jaw many moons ago and they're a little pitted.  I would like to remove them and send them off for rechroming.  Here the Valk sit with a full tank of gas for winter storage and was wondering if I have to remove the tank or could I work with just supporting it someway.

If you're talking the actual load-bearing hangers, the left side you just unbolt and remove.  On the right side, you'll need to take the tank off to disconnect the connector for the ignition switch so you can pull it through the hanger.

I hope you added some fuel stabilizer to the gasoline in the tank!

Myself, I'd drain everything including the carburetors and run the gasoline in the car/truck.

Not speaking specifically about removing the engine hangers (I don't want to run out to my garage, remove the cover, and roll it away from what it's parked against right now to see what's involved), yes you can remove the fuel valve knob, loosen the front gas tank mounting bolt, remove the rear one, and lift the rear of the tank up a little.  To lift it further, you need to start disconnecting hoses, then you might as well take the tank right off.  Ricky-D suggests draining everything, but I would rather leave the gas tank full for winter storage to prevent condensation.
