i got out my beast after being in the garage a couple of years. it took a while to get it right, i thought.
i had a pingle on my bike for over 10 yrs. just guessing. it started a leak a small drip and i decided to to put a vacuum pingle on it evenually it started to leak also. now they (vrcc riders) were all deciding to go with damn marc electric fuel valve and a inline filter i left the pingle in and wrode with both working fine.. a month or so after getting it out and ran.. it stopped. so off to pingle to get rebuilt. took off the inline filter, left dan on  now it pops allot at idle warming up. even running easy through the gears.

has anybody had trouble with the set up i am using i also put new plugs changed the oil

one thing i will tear it down again check everything out..one important thing it has 162,000 and left it stock all these years with a few upgrades. had it since mile 1

Whew....I ran out of breath reading that....no periods or commas.

I've had a manual Pingle, inline filter, and the DanMarc electric shut-off installed for at least 10-12 years with no trouble. You need to get away from the vacuum operated petcock and go to manual, put it inline with the electric shut-off and as long as it all runs down hill from the tank you should be fine. The popping is most likely due to a vacuum leak somewhere.
