I want to visit Lookout Mountain.

I don't remember when I first heard Steve Earle's song Copperhead Road, but when I took one of my first long road trips, I tried to find it.  Seems like I was told the name had been changed because it was hard to keep the road signs up.

So, recently I have been listening to a song on YouTube with Alabama and Jamey Johnson, "My Home's in Alabama".  At 3:22 in the song linked below Jamey Johnson mentions Lookout Mountain.  I want to go there.

I have looked online and found what I think is the right place but just wanted some confirmation as to exactly where Jamey Johnson is referring to.

Thanks.

Lookout Mtn is fairly residential but ride south on Hwy 148 and you'll see into Alabama.

There's a good view from the hang gliding place and further south is Cloudland Canyon.

Further south is Little River Canyon   https://goo.gl/maps/kB74vEC3Ry7Srhwh7

Thanks Britman.  I was there (well near there) some years ago, when we were headed East on I-24 after a trip at west.  I will have to see how close I got then.

I will make sure I stop in Little River Canyon.  Its on my route (well very close)

The North end is kinda tourist trap. But has nice views, some civil war sites, rock city, ruby falls, incline railway. South end is in Georgia then Alabama more rural with some nice roads to ride, two lanes.

At the southern end of this map    https://goo.gl/maps/rE5FKyK87AUqitEy8   you can see 148. Follow that. It's a bit beat up in places and some of it is like a roller coaster  cooldude

Then I would go down 127 so as to ride north through Little River Canyon and you'll be able to easily pull into the overlooks.

When are you planning this? Ft. Payne is not far from me.
