So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Has anyone tried the Maxxis 175r16 on their bikes.

I've been running the Auston Taxi Tire for years and am very happy with it.   The "Taxi Tire" is no longer available and from what I'm being told, this has the same profile.

The Taxi tire offered what I wanted and didn't require the "Nut Job".   I liked it.

I'm seriously considering the Maxxis tire and would appreciate knowing if anyone else has tried it, if so what are your thoughts?

I checked this tire out and was surprised to find it listed as a light truck tire. When I looked at the reviews there was only one and it was a 5 star rating from a guy who had one mounted on his Valkyrie!

That review was from Mike, baird4444.  I recommended the Zeetex to him!   cooldude

Thanks to you I'm running this tire too.. it's a magnificent tire IMHO, I have zero complaints  cooldude

I've been peg scraping with confidence and then some, even when riding 2 up. And the rear brake has never felt more solid. Riding down the road it feels silky smooth and tracks very straight and true.

Champiro VP1.

About 13,000 miles compared to 8/9,000

I don't want a hard compound that will last 20/30,000 miles.

Reposted from a previous thread, same subject:

The narrower the tire, the less it has steering issues.  Also the more rounded the corners, same thing.  I run the Austone, also last tire, and have the next one on hand - as mentioned, it's out of production.  I have run a lot of different DS tires, most were 205.  The Austone is best handling by far. However the Firestone Transforce CV in 195/75R 16C has measurements that are very close and even larger diameter, which I like - the Austone provides excellent MPG; 3500rpm gets 85mph indicated.  And the Firestone is cheaper.  And a US company FWIW - source country is "CR" which I'm guessing is Costa Rica. Was $123.91 with free shipping at tirerack.com last year.  Here's a thread on this tire: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,106471.msg1069397.html#msg1069397

I see now available from Amazon at $157.  Size to get is 195/75-R16C  https://www.amazon.com/Firestone-Transforce-Highway-Terrain-Commercial/dp/B07FB1G623/ref=sr_1_4?adgrpid=1342504874154939&hvadid=83906755320252&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=164081&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvtargid=kwd-83907332754213%3Aloc-119&hydadcr=28747_14563306&keywords=firestone+transforce+cv&qid=1659620939&sr=8-4

NoGrey post on the VRCC Facebook page trying a Firestone 195/75R16 which looks to be similar to the Austone.

Just a bump to see if anyone has run the Maxxis tire but, I'm very willing to consider any tire with similar qualities to the Auston Taxi Tire.   Will look into this Zeetex.   cooldude

Go ahead and get the Maxxis tire and give us a review, then I can decide which one I may want to try!

Are you waiting on hover bikes, won't need a tire with it.

The Maxxis Taxi tire looks interesting.  I've been running an Auston Taxi Tire on my Interstate and have liked it a lot.  Did not know Maxxis made a Taxi tire.  I just put a set of Maxxis M8008 on my 8.5'x24' trailer.  They have great reviews.  Let us know if you end up trying one.  I have another year or so on my tire and then will be looking too.
