Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize

President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, just weeks after helping to broker peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

He was nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, who praised Trump for his efforts towards resolving conflicts worldwide.

'For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,' Tybring-Gjedde said to Fox News.

Tybring-Gjedde, who is a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, said the Trump administration played a key role in the establishment of relations between The UAE and Israel.

Tybring-Gjedde, a member of a conservative-leaning populist party in Norway, told Fox News that his latest nomination is not about trying to curry favor with the U.S. president.

“I’m not a big Trump supporter,” he said. “The committee should look at the facts and judge him on the facts – not on the way he behaves sometimes. The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, ''Barack Obama did nothing.”

It was,  I never did figure out why President Obama was awarded or given ( is a better description) that prize.   It was obviously not for looking out for the US.

Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/donald-trump-has-been-nominated-for-the-2021-nobel-peace-prize/ar-BB18QHJH#:~:text=President%20Donald%20Trump%20has%20been%20nominated%20for%20the,Trump%20for%20his%20efforts%20towards%20resolving%20conflicts%20worldwide.

I’m interested in hearing why you would find this so humorous.

Was it the comments you copied and pasted or the fact The President was nominated.

I’m not trying to stir the pot or argue with you but given the accomplishments President Trump has achieved in foreign relations with rival countries there is good reason for his nomination.

This may be a small example but it’s a start;

https://www.esquireme.com/content/47875-abu-dhabi-hotels-will-soon-offer-kosher-meals

“The announcement comes as the United Arab Emirates and Israel signed a landmark agreement. In five days time, on September 15, the leaders of both countries will head to the White House to sign a diplomatic peace deal known as the Abraham Accord – which will officially normalize relations between both countries.“

“Last month saw the first-ever direct commercial passenger flight between both countries.“

And yet another step toward peace. It may be a baby step but it’s a step in the right direction. Only time will tell what the future of these agreements will be but at least opposing nations seem to be trying to open communication.

which leads to the main topic of being nominated again...for the second time THIS week

I find this interesting in light of recent events....

Am I to understand that nominations are secret?

Based on your linked site, it does appear that there is supposed to be some secrets kept but, I think I have the answer right from the linked page.  It lists who can nominate:
Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

I'm thinking a previous winner did this, President Obama.   The guilt finally got to him.  Wink
