The Landmass Between Mobile And New Orleans

« on: December 22, 2009, 07:14:34 PM »

An 11 year old boy was killed today when a boulder broke and fell on him north of Mobile, AL.  My heart goes out to this family.  They lost their son three days before Christmas.    :'(

People are more passionately opposed to wearing fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than bikers.

I live in the Mobile area. I didn't see the news tonight so this is the 1st I have heard of this.

Truly tragic. My son lives not far from there. It is only about 20 minutes north of Mobile on Hwy 45

This is truly a tragic and freak accident.

The land here is very flat. The highest elevation for the county is only about 200 feet. and boulders are almost non-existent in this area.

We have had a record rainfall this month so since this boulder was over a trench I can only assume the rain had washed out its footing. The ground is still saturated so I can only assume it was muddy there as well.
