Got this "anti virus Live" Mal-ware again. That crap is a SOB to get rid of. It took me two hours to get it off.

Bad thing is, I had so many windows open I don't know where it came from.  Shocked

I did have enough sense to pull my network cable before it crashed our server firewall, unlike the last time.  Undecided

Go to Malwarebytes.com and download the free program. Shut down your compter and disconnet from the web. Now bring it up in safe mode and execute this program and delete all it finds. Works every time and I am the IT guy at the hospital.

I have malwarebytes already. It worked well last time. This time not so well. I couldn't run ANYTHING. It wouldn't let me open or run anything. Everything I clicked on brought up the "this file can not be run it is infected" box. It's a work computer and it wouldn't let me boot into safe mode. So I memorized where the malwarebytes shortcut was and rebooted, as soon as the shortcut for malwarebytes showed up I clicked it. That got it loaded before the malware got loaded.
Then I was able to remove it.

Congrats,, at least you got it off,, some of that stuff is really nasty and invasive. I have even seen some that when you tried to delete the dll file it just modded itself and reinstalled itself under another name. Hackers are getting smarter. Often makes me wonder if some of the antivirus companies make the stuff! uglystupid2

I just bought and installed Kaspersky.  So far so good.  It doesn't take as long as McAfee did to get going either.

Thanks.  I followed your instructions and it found 15 adwares and 2 Trojans on my c and d drives.   cooldude

I've been happy with this one http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=GOOGLE-SUPERANTISPYWARE when I had that problem, just booted up in safe mode and ran it to get all cleaned up. Just another free option.

My co-worker has it on his work computer.  I will try to run these programs when we go back to work.  I tried several basic things yesterday.  Thanks for the help.

I have and use both of those. The free versions do not protect you from Mal-ware.
