These windows face the west and the afternoon sun is intense. This is her partial solution. Drapery will follow but a lot of other decisions to be made before that happens.

My handiwork in that second picture doesn’t show. The circle top window was leaking and I tried to seal it from the outside. Total fail, so two weeks ago I had to take out the entire glass circle top window, clean out all the old sealant and reseal. I figured I had 3 possible outcomes, too much sealant, too little sealant, or just enough sealant. I was afraid I might have erred on the too little side after I had the glass back in but after several good drenching rains all seems well. You can bet I’ll be keeping an eye on it as new storms come my way!

Nice work by both parties but, it's pretty obvious who the creative one is in that household.   cooldude

Is that real stained glass ?

No, the circle top is clear insulated glass With grid work between the glass. The stained glass look was achieved by an overlay applied to the inside of the window. The look is very realistic from the inside and the outside except on close inspection you can see there is no texture to the surface. My wife does love leaded stain glass though.
