A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his father

As to when they could discuss his use of the car.

His father said he'd make a deal with his son, "You bring your grades up

From a C to a B average, study your Bible a little and get your hair cut.

Then we'll talk about the car."

The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer

And they agreed on it.

After about six weeks his father said, "Son, you've brought your grades up

And I've observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I'm

Disappointed you haven't had your hair cut."

The boy said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've

Noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John the

Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair, and there's even strong

Evidence that Jesus had long hair."

(I Love the Dad's reply!)

"Did you also notice that they all walked everywhere they went?"

good one, but during this pandemic hair places were closed down.  My kid in college short hair let it grow the past 5-6 months looked like a hippi or more like 80's rocker back in my heyday.

Now just saw him last weekend and he got his sides cut short with middle still fairly long. I said you actually paid for that haircut?  I could have done better for sure..   Grin

When I was a teenager my dad used to offer me $500 an inch if I'd cut my hair....

...I still wouldn't do it....

Had to a few times for jobs but my last haircut was in 1997..... I need to add up how much money I've saved on hair cuts in those years!

Been using a FlowBee past 20 years. Professional cuts every time, first timer could use it with eyes shut.
I bought 2 of them 20 years ago, still using the first one.   cooldude

Enough money saved to buy another Valk.  Oh wait, you already just done that...LOL   Grin

As far as haircuts for me go,  past 30 years have used 1 (make that 2 since first one clunked out) of these Remington NO mess haircut razors, although much older design.  I like the catch tray 95% of hair clippings go into.  Funny,  I now fill up 1 1/2 of these tops to empty but some 20+ years ago it was a full 2 filled up.  I guess age will do that to me loosing some hair or at least thinning it out.  Or,  my hair I preferred tad bit longer back in the 90's vs. now once the back starts curling over my hair gets cut.

I too have saved enough money just on haircuts to afford another VAlkyrie like Serk but have no room for another one or for that matter any motorized vehicle.

When I was in college, I would get a full hair cut once a year.  I was on a swimming scholarship, we would  get a shave cut during the last big 8 championships.    The other swimmers on the team did pretty much the same thing as far as cutting hair.  This was during the period when every other athletics were required to have no hair touching the ears or collars.  Our coach didn't care as long as our times were down and grades were up.  Yeah we were trouble makers.

Fast forward to getting first job as a forester working the woods.   Decided long hair was going to work, started to keep it short.   Especially those times when we had the fun of fighting wild fires.

Now to present day, I have lost a lot of hair and it is easy to keep it really short.  Been using a beard trimmer for 15 or more years.  Once a week, go over the head with.  No more visits to the barber, just 10 minutes and done.  My chin and upper lip have 5 time the hair length

I use a a regular Walmart hair clipper, and buzz it off about every 4 months (out in front of the bike shed).  I use scissors to trim in the meantime, but eventually it just needs cut off again.

I tried cutting it to a quarter inch, which looks better, but can never get it even (in back where you do it by feel not looking).  So I just buzz it down to boot camp (convict) length.

No barber in 12 years or so.

Going out right now.

Truthfully, I'm just too cheap to pay the going rate for a haircut.  $20.00 before tip around here.   With my hair, if it takes a barber or barberette more than 3 minutes, they aren't trying.

Tried the DIY method, didn't work out too well in the back.   The "Spousal Unit" didn't like what I had done and took over the duty.   She's been cutting my hair for several years now.   She gets her way in that I look like what she likes and I don't have to pay that $20.00 for the service.

That's not to suggest it's free.   We all know there's a price to pay...............   2funny
