Of course, these debates aren't going to change anyone's mind but holy crap, are they going to be entertaining.  You have two guys, both of whom are hot tempered, both of whom say wacky things under the best of circumstances, going up against each other with no script, no prompters, no one to save them from themselves.  It's going to be a dumpster fire.

So, this brings me to my question:  What snacks are you all going to have at the ready during this train wreck?  Alyssa and I are thinking Totino's Pizza Rolls.

First thing, Trump needs to check Joe's ears for ear buds when they come out on stage.  Because without someone telling him what to say Biden is going to be lost. He can't complete a sentence to save his life. Trump is going to hand him his ass plain and simple...

Snacks?

Having quit partaking or consuming "Spirits" long ago, I'm thinking this election could drive me to drink'n in my Hot Rod Cummins.      Or not.   Sorry, I don't have a Hot Rod Lincoln, that's as close to rhyming as I could get.

I’m not sure I will watch it live. I’ll probably dvr the proceedings. I find myself having my blood pressure get wacky watching debates. Having it recorded, I can take it in doses. I think the debate will be very revealing and I hope Chris Wallace can keep the discussion on point. Maybe some chips and dip?

I don't think they will show anything that we don't already know about the candidates, so I'm not going to watch.

 cooldude cooldude

Conservative pundit and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino declared Sunday morning that former Vice President Joe Biden is suffering a rapid “cognitive decline” — and he suggested that his sources were “close to the situation.”

I dont find this interesting at all, Biden is obviously impaired even by his own admittance. What I find sad is there are people who will vote for him. Its a sad statement on the US population that even accept this dog and pony show.

The Dems are pulling a Kings new clothes on the US population and they are buying it, sad so sad. They marvel at what he looks like but there is nothing there and under threat are afraid to say anything. The dems are even saying that if Trump is elected there is going to be problems. We have Soros and others saying this is the most important election in history, yet people vote for Biden with NO platform. Even with the dems donations coming from, BLM and Antifa.

I am totally speechless since there is no explaining the phenomenon.

If it was like when Obama was elected there could be talking points on both sides but there is nothing to talk about.

If Pence steps down which is entirely possible then Nancy Pelosi is next in line  uglystupid2

Boy these take on a life of their own and they do it quickly.

Debate ? I'm not about to miss it for the world. There'll be plenty of popcorn.

Trump even says that sleepy should win, after-all he has 47 years of experience.

There's much truth in that for so many.

Many of us in 2016 cast our vote against Hillary Clinton.  This year the democrat party has been kind enough to put forward a candidate that allows us to double up.  We can now cast our vote for Donald Trump and simultaneously vote against Joe Biden.   Smiley

Oh, I'll also be thinking of a few of my friends who lower case their usernames as I cast my vote.    Smiley

Biden with 47 yrs. of experience?!  The question really is....does he have 47 yrs. of productive experience or one year of experience 47 times. Looking back on his career, I tend to lean toward the latter.

I hope Trump goes after him about Hunter getting multimillion dollar no show / no experience jobs from the Ukraine and China.

I hope Trump goes after him about the actual quid-pro-quo that lead to the firing of the investigative prosecutor of a money laundering company Hunter was on the board of.

I hope Trump goes after him about the FISA scam.

I hope Trump goes after him and makes explain how poor kids are just as smart as white kids, and how to do an Indian accent to go into a 7-11, or how tight to make the chains that black people are gonna be put back into, or what are Black people then, who don't vote for him?  Or about how he didn't want his kids going to school in jungle land?

I hope Trump asks Biden why the Democrat party, with choices of Black people, women, Hispanic, Asian, and even a Jewish candiate, why did they pick the racist old White guy to represent them?

I’ll say this. If any Democrat had the record of achievement of Trumps past 3+ years, I would vote for that person over any other Republican nominee of the 2016 election. I think back over the past almost 12 years and all the bickering among ourselves and all the posturing of our representatives it’s no wonder we are in the shape we are at this time. Of course, I hope and fully expect Trump to prevail in 2020 if for no other reason is that 2024 would be a clean slate again and maybe, just maybe there could be a candidate the almost everyone could get behind. Or is it too late for that now?

Wow!  That's harsh!  And ignorant.  I have said before that Donald Trump was not my first choice in 2016 but I voted for him because of the impending Supreme Court nominations and that I didn't at all trust the leadership of Hillary Clinton.

My allegiance is to the Constitution of the United States of America.  I believe it means what it says not that it is evolving to say what someone thinks it should say if it were written today.  My allegiance to the Constitution certainly predated my vote for and subsequent support for President Donald Trump.  One would have to use some pretty twisted logic to see a conflict between the two.

Donald Trump's performance as President has impressed me.  I choose to support him as the standing President.

You're probably right about my not voting for any Democrat but it's not for my allegiance to the sitting President.  It's because if one supports the legal killing of children he will not get my vote for anything from dog catcher to president.

Just sayin'

That would be much funnier if it wasn't so true.

What should happen is for those who hate President Trump so much that they cannot vote for him in any universe, is for them to vote for this candidate:

https://jo20.com/

I believe that the only hope for the Democratic Party to wake up and return to any sense of normalcy is for Joe Biden to finish in 3rd place.

The Democratic party is far from the party of John Kennedy. It's even far from the party of Bill Clinton.

The Democratic party has been hijacked by far left Communist/Socialist that seek to destroy The United States of America.

And those of you who are willing to support them simply because of your blind hatred for Donald Trump are part of the problem.

Some of you who are so blinded, took the same oath that I did to support and defend the Constitution of The United States of America.

Please, don't let your hatred of one man cause you to break that oath and cast a vote that ultimately leads to the destruction of "our" country.

I believe that you care for our country but are so blinded by hatred that you can't see the danger posed to it by the Democratic party in its current state.

If you want to see us return to a time when it didn't matter much whether a Democrat or a Republican was in the White House.

Then the Democrats need to lose and lose BIG in 2020.

Only then will the Democratic party realize the error of its ways, abandon the far left wing nuts and move towards a more centralist agenda.

I used to call myself a Democrat.

The Republican Party leaned way too far to the right for me.

Today's Republican Party is way more central than the party of Ronald Reagan.

I didn't become a Republican by choice.

I became a Republican because the Democratic Party left me and left me no choice.

Donald Trump on Meet the Press speaking about his views on banning abortion:

But, of course, I already know what you're going to say...

You knew what I was going to say?  Why bother.

21 year old interview?  Really?  He's been President for almost four years and you have to reach back 21 years to know(?) where he stands?

I say you have to dig really far back to support what you've already decided.  Grownups shouldn't have to do that.

And yet, there it is.  You discount his own words on a topic that you claim to feel very strongly about because those words don't support your belief in him.  Grown ups shouldn't have to do that. coolsmiley

What you should have learned by now is that actions speak much louder than words. Since we have never met, I only have your words posted on this forum and if I had you form a picture of you in my mind it would be of a 17 to 18 year old who has all the answers.
It is an interesting perspective you have there. I haven't and I won't look it up, but I would venture that Alien has voiced his opinions here far fewer times than many here (including you and I)

Hmm, well if we can get past all the personal opinions of each other, maybe we could consider what this president has accomplished during his tenure (less than 4 years) versus what Candidate Biden did during his 47 years of "service".

IMHO, Candidate Biden had been all over the board on several different issues.   Although, I am not a fan of President Trump's personality, I am a fan of the job he has done.

Sigh.  The original point of this post was to get debate snack ideas....not to have our own debate.

At any rate, this is almost surely what the debate will look like:
