Stun Gun Used on Woman Who Refused to Wear a Mask at Ohio Football Game

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/stun-gun-used-on-woman-who-refused-to-wear-a-mask-at-ohio-football-game/2635979/

Police used a stun gun on an Ohio woman and forcibly removed her from a middle school football game on Wednesday evening after she refused to wear a face mask, NBC News reports.

A video of the incident, which garnered over 440,000 views on Facebook, shows school resource officer Chris Smith in a heated exchange with a fan in the stands of Logan High School Stadium.

Smith reportedly asked the woman, later identified as Alecia Kitts, to wear a face mask, but she refused claiming she has asthma, according to a statement from the Logan Police Department. After refusing to put her hands behind her back, the officer can be seen using a stun gun on her and then handcuffing her, before escorting her out of the arena.

My only comment at this point is, for a person suffering with asthma, she sure seems to have a set of great lungs.    coolsmiley

Saw this yesterday, it's infuriating.. There's another one showing people singing prayer hymns at a church service in a parking lot who were arrested.

I can't believe this is the US

I think the reason she was tased and cuffed was not over the maskbut because she refused to put it on she was trespassed and didnt leave. I wasnt there and dont know.  But still a bit over the top.

It's OK, white girl, black cop, nothing to see here, move along. He probably could have shot her and most of the world wouldn't have even heard about it. In this incident I bet BLM and ANTIFA probably support the police.
Now imagine a white cop doing that to a black lady. The town would burn, the stores would be looted, businesses destroyed, a few people would get shot, the mayor and governor would tell the police to stand down and let the "Peaceful Protesters" get it out of system, the city would pay millions to the poor soul whose civil rights were violated, the cop would be fired and there would be more "peaceful protesting"(burning/stealing/shooting), until that white supremacist officer is charged, arrested and prosecuted.
Tell me, am I wrong??

I thought with all the mask mandates, you were exempt from wearing a mask due to certain respiratory conditions, such as Asthma?

As much as I try to back the Blue, I think this one went too far. This gal seemed to be socially distanced from what little I saw. This could/should have been handled better.

I have absolutely no problem with how this arrest transpired.   The LEO was respectful and asked her to put on the mask as was required to be there by the Governor's directive.   She refused and he told her she couldn't be there without a mask (per the governor's orders), she refused that also.   She was told that if she wouldn't mask up, she couldn't be there and would be charged with trespassing.   Again, she refused.

Whether I agree with the Governor's order or not, the LEO was not at fault in my opinion.  Like many police actions, the LEOs don't make the laws, they only enforce them.   It's our choice whether we decide to go along with or break those laws.   We are all responsible for our own decisions and actions.

I also don't buy the asthma excuse.   She was definitely not suffering the effects of asthma during this altercation.   Her lungs were working just fine.  Wink
