Wallace brought a knife to a gun fight.

Well, let me rephrase that, a knife versus a howitzer and a BB gun.

Go ahead, you decide.

After listening to some of the talking heads, I went and just listened to the debate. Funny what you pick up without the picture. Trump crushed Biden. It was still unprofessional though by both sides.

I'm somewhat confused about this term 'professional', by most I would be considered a master carpenter.. but never a 'professional' carpenter.

I see a lot of kids getting out of college and going into a field such as accounting for example, they are considered young professionals, yet they have very little experience in that field or life in general. Is it a college degree that makes one a professional?

Is the term related to Professor? If it is, and judging by the quality of content espoused by these alleged professors in colleges today, I would have to consider being called unprofessional a compliment of sorts..

IDK, just some ramblings from an un-professional guy trying to understand it all.  Smiley

I'd take a master carpenter over a so called professional carpenter any day of the wk.   around my area a professional carpenter wants to get paid union wages even when they are not union and still do a fast cut corners job if they can.   too many today think because they are licensed as required by the state then they are a professional. not so.

Quite a tangent guys.

I guess I should change unprofessional to un-presidential and un-vice-presidential. Or, interruptive, abusive, caustic, whatever else fits.

Biden is a professional politician. I don't think Trump is, yet.

Ha yes, apologies for sidetracking your thread with random thoughts..

I knew what you meant, and agree T is not a pro politician.. which is an asset I believe, considering what the professionals have done to U.S.  Smiley

Well, since you brought it up, I noticed some flaws of address is speaking of the "debate" both during and after.

In this culture we allow certain high ranking individuals to retain their titles even after their service under that title has ended.  Some of those include President, Governor, Vice President, General, Colonel.

President Trump is correct.  Referring to Mr. Trump as the President is correct.

Vice President Biden is acceptable.  Referring to Mr. Biden as the Vice President is not.  The Vice President is Mr. Pence.

Whether I be correct or not, I refer to the man as former VP Biden.   Not intended as any form of dis-respect, there is only one VP and that's the person holding the office currently.   Doesn't matter who we're talking about.

In the case of the Ladies, they are the same, former first lady such and such.   I'm still confused as how to refer to Monica, former what?  Wink

They both were unprofessional. I keep hearing liberals say that president Trump is not "presidential". We all know Trump has a big mouth and he's brash and depending on your definition of "presidential" not so much. But Biden was far from  presidential too. He called Trump a racist,Putin's puppy and a clown. I didn't hear Trump call Joe "sleepy joe" once. Oh yeah he went after him and rightfully so but no names.

Biden is like a farm wind vane. He blows whatever direction the dems tell him too. He was for "the green new deal" yesterday but not now. He was in with Sanders. Not now. In March he said he would ban new fracking but when in PA he told them he wasn't for banning it. He flip flops more then a fish out of water.

That is the main problem with the government today. There should be no such thing as a "Professional Politician". They should be Public servants.

Politicians don't seem to realize that they are supposed to work for us. Aren't they supposed to vote as their majority wants them to.
