Hi fellas, for those of you that did the upgrade, asides from the Speakers fitting mods that I’m aware of, the Connector spades coming out of the Polk speakers appear  skinnier than the OEM, I don’t really wanna cut the oem wires connectors  if I don’t have to. So what did you guys do to tackle this issue.

If you already have the speakers: You can make a pigtail out of the correct size connectors.

When I did my speaker upgrade I don't remember cutting off the spades. I believe i took pliers and smashed down the clamp to fit tighter on the spade.

I believe DB501’s were discontinued a couple of years ago. Do you have a source?

I don't use speakers, so I don't keep up... I remember some kind of speakers
that everyone wanted were unavailable a few years ago too, but now, over
at Amazon (and other places too, I think)...

Polk Audio DB501 5-Inch Coaxial Speakers

Are "in stock"...

Thank you Vance that was my thought too but wasn’t sure. I’ve had a set sitting for over 4years just now getting to it. I believe they’re back in stock at amazon.

Do these speakers fit in the front without modifications?

I hope the link still works. You gonna have to cut the mounting plate of the old speakers and slide it over the new ones acting like a flange to secure them flush on the existing mounting holes on the speaker panels and don’t over tighten the screws the holes are plastic. For better results you might wanna add an amp. There’s a lot of write ups if you open the tech Board and type here in the search bar “Interstate speakers “ you’ll get tons of info. Hope this helps.
