Just ordered and received two keys from Cyclekeysonline, it took two days at 10$ a key, Larry also etched my key code number on my keys. It always worried me that I had only one for my 97 standard/tourer.  WOW

I found the correct blank at ACE Hardware and they ground the blank to fit for <$3. It doesn’t have the black plastic finger holds, but now I have 3 keys.

Years ago I tossed my key in the trunk, which of course can be locked without the key.  I immediately realized how dumb that was and pulled it out and put it in my pocket.  I only had one key at the time, but got a spare made shortly after that.  The hardware store keys without the plastic are thin enough to carry in your wallet.

I saw an automated key cutting vending machine at Walmart.  Has anyone used those?  I wonder if they can handle a Valk key.

Thanks for the heads up Top Cat!  Ordered the Keys on Friday and they showed up Tuesday after Monday's holiday.  They're a little longer than the OEM key, but work perfectly fine and look good.

A few years ago I had tried the local Honda dealer and they told me that they really didn't do keys...??uglystupid2   So, I went to a local locksmith who made up a couple of keys, but they didn't work or fit very well.

Glad to finally have a couple of nice spares.

I went to one of those KeyMe machines.  Seeing they classify it as a "vehicle" key, it was $40!!!  and had to be shipped to me.  Went to my local locksmith and he made some standard key blank copies for $6/EA.  Also, being so thin, I use some nice strong tape to apply to the back of a cover/frame that I can access in case of emergency.

Mitsubishi DC3 is the perfect blank. Can buy and get cut just about anywhere for a few bucks.

I keep one in the ignition and one in the seat unlock. The one in the seat unlock never gets removed.
