I'm curious, where does one get tires rated for 331 mph and how much would they cost?

so, what is the top speed on cycle or vehicle one has done?  Top speed for me was around 115 mph is all feel no need for that kind of speed any longer.    I have read our Valks will do 135 mph but never going to try it.

I would not mind trying a stock car on a straight away doing 150 mph or so see if I feel comfy to go at those speeds?

I don’t recall any particular top speed numbers but I’ve been over 100 mph in numerous vehicles but was never all that comfortable. I have always lived in the land of deer, possum, ground hogs, and dogs who give no warning about when they want to go for a stroll across the highway. I much prefer the feeling of taking a 35mph curve at 65mph while staying in my lane and the feel of acceleration when applying a ridiculous amount of excess hp to the roadway. I might feel different about top speed if I lived in Nevada or Wyoming!

Been there, done that.

I once helped a friend with getting a vehicle from CA using my (new at the time) Dodge Ram and one of my gooseneck trailers.   We shared driving time.   During our trip back to KY, he was driving and asked me if I minded if he kicked it in the ass and let her roll.   I told him it was his choice, I didn't care but, if he got caught, the ticket was all on him.

He let her rip.   Somewhere around 110 mph, the speed restrictor kicked in and he held it there for quite a while.   Remember now, we had a gooseneck trailer behind us with his new acquisition on board.  While, I wasn't concerned about it blowing or bouncing off, it was well secured, I just had to remind him that the tires on that trailer were not speed rated tires.   I honestly don't remember what they were rated for but, sustained 100+ mph was not planned by the engineers who designed those tires.   He slowed to around 90 mph after that.  Wink

I've driven several fast cars in my time.   Had a Plymouth GTX once somewhere above 140 mph when the tread came off the right front tire.   That was an attention getter!   Nope, I don't feel the need for speed like I used to.   Getting old sucks but, it beats the hell out of crashing at high speed.  Wink

I like going 0 to 90 better then top speed.
My Mustang's top speed is 147, I'll never see that.

160 in a Porsche held it there for awhile, and 145 top down in a Mercedes, 125 Valk, 115 AND about 125 on water.

I'm not a fan of huge speeds in land vehicles.  I am a big fan of over the limit speeds in twisty mountain roads.  And I generally am within 10 or 15 of the limits in straight and level, and enjoy cranking it up only in the turns and sweepers.  Anyone can floor it in the straight and level.  Try 85 all leaned over almost peg dragging; now that's entertainment.

My fastest speeds have been in aircraft, but you don't feel the speed.  Except in an F16B, when the pilot turns sharp enough to inflate your G suit, you start feeling really dizzy and getting tunnel vision.  But I never puked in my oxygen mask, which is a big plus.  Positive Gs (heavy in the seat) are much less disconcerting than negative Gs (light in the seat; so light that without the belts you'd be laying on the canopy roof), probably because things in your stomach want to come back up again.  And they don't make a G suit to cover your head to squeeze the blood back down into your body.  Grin

Not sure how fast my Valk as gone with me riding her.  I usually just look at the road and not the speedometer.   I know she has gone over the 100 mark once or 10 times.   Normally when passing several vehicles as once on a long straight-away.

In my younger days have driven my Camaro over 140 several times.  But around 135 front end got a little loose.  Normally my speeding was limited to going around curves 20-40 over the recommended speed limits.

One night while in a friends slightly modified Firebird we went over the 170 mph mark while playing with a new Mustang.   Road was two lane, time was 11 at night, plus lots of deer and elk around.  AH the fun of being young and crazy.

35 on a bicycle that is flying.  I bought a digital readout when a kid used to ride my bicycle all the time even newspaper carrier on it all over town and the speedo was pretty accurate never made it to 35 but close to it.   seemed pretty fast for me low 30's much the same feel as about 38 mph on my 40hp mercury fishing boat.  Never driven a car that could probably go over 120 mph back in the 80s but in a corvette once and buick regal grand national turbo, just not drive either.
