Not that I'll take it though. I haven't had a full beard since I was a wee little boy in the Navy. When I retired in June I decided to let it grow. The red, blonde, and brown hairs are all gone I'm afraid. When I was about 7 or 8 years old we used to drive our car out on Padre Island for a day at the beach. Sometimes my Dad would drive way down the beach. The further we would get we would encounter driftwood huts. Occasionally you'd see one living there. I asked my Dad about them, but the only thing I really remember was him calling them "hermits". Everyone had a beard. I figured since we are living a hermitage lifestyle now (well, some of us are) I'd honor them with a beard. I don't know why, but there seemed something noble about them. In reality they were probably just common bums. But as a 7 year old, it looked like a pretty cool thing.
Anyways. As to the advice. I've always drank a lot of coffee. I've noticed my untrimmed mustache is becoming dyed brown. I think I might have discovered the poor man's Grecian Formula. Would it be poor etiquette to dye a white beard ? If not, which color would be appropriate ? I kind of like the idea of a Forest Green to match the bike.

I haven't shaved(clean) since October 25, 1969. I am also a coffee drinker.  I have more of a problem with my  arthritis drugs than coffee stains. I think you should go with the bumblebee look. Evil

I've had a beard for years.  First of all, it's not grey or white, it's chrome.  Second, you earned it, why cover it up?  Definetly trim your moustache even with your lip though.  It vastly improves the quality of life where food or drink is concerned.  Not to mention that women don't usually like kissing hair. 2funny

When I was a bit younger (say 20 years ago) my beard was reddish.  Used to grow it during the winter as it helped to keep face warmer while working out side.  Now it is mostly white (as well as what hair on head I still have).   The last 10 years of working, I was working inside as an IT type and didn't need the winter face covering.   So I decided to keep the hair on upper lip and chin.   Haven't shave or seen that portion of face in over 20 years.

I do trim these face hairs at least once a week.   I do drink coffee and it would look funny with mostly white face hair with brown around the upper lip.   Also, while my DW is a great cook, I don't want to taste the previous meal

Make sure you have a napkin handy whenever you're eating in public...that's the one "rule" the Mrs always reminds me of. Embrace the White...it's a sign of a life's worth of gained knowledge & wisdom, and it commands respect  Grin Wink

Funny the only distinguished coloring I have is in my beard. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not coloring mine, I’ve earned every bit of it.

Brenda keeps saying she wants me to keep it thru Christmas. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I think maybe until we have a vaccine. Maybe forever.

I'm lazy. I've just been going over to the kitchen sink and spraying myself down.  I just take a beach towel with me to the Mexican restaraunt.  Grin

I use to grow a beard in my mid to late 30's but once in 40's it started turning grayer it reminded me I am getting old so stopped doing the beard thing in WI winters.  I liked it when I had a beard but me being me my face broke out more so with tad bit more acne, etc. even if I took a shower daily,  beard still felt greasy to me especially outside doing physical activity.

So, I stopped it for years now, but went on vacation recently for 4-5 days not shaving forgot the razor and even a near weeks growth made me look even older than I am.  I do not want anyone asking me quite yet if I wanted the McD's senior citizen discount at only age 50.   2funny

sort of looks ugly if partially gray/white and other half fairly brown hair still.    At least I am not like my brother 4 years older than me very very gray and loosing his hair on top of his head a lot vs. me still plenty thick hair on top.  My brother got my Dad's lack of hair on top of head thinning out a lot for sure I guess that is why he wears a baseball cap a lot of the times.  He is a grandpa though was only age 53 at the time.  He says my turn is coming on that as well but I can wait for sure 5 more years, or so I hope,  not ready for being called gramps at age 50 or tad bit over that.
