Deer Hunting

Deer Hunted Jarrell, Tx this morning.    Killed two hogs.    Leaving lease and headed to camp house on hiway there were 6 about 100 lb hogs laying in the hyway.   Bet that did some damage to vehicle that hit them.

I was wondering if you stick a deer tag on the hog and hope for the best. 

But then I guess it's open season all year on hogs down there?

Bad enough to hit one deer, hitting six hogs at one time seems like... miraculous bad luck.

I have been hunting several times the past couple weeks. Still archery season here. Got a button buck on Tuesday morning and a 10 point yesterday. Shot the button buck in the head at 35 yards. Buck got double lunged at 72 yards.

In texas you dont even have to have a hunting license to hunt hogs.   They are extremely destructive to ranch properties.   They have litters of 8-12 2 times a yr.    they are everywhere. 

Saw several shooter 8 pts this weekend but waiting on the gkids to come do my shooting for me.   

My son has a 4,500 acre lease in Del Rio Texas.  Couple yrs ago the guys on the lease wanted to rent a helicopter to get rid of some hogs so my son called and talked with the lical Game Warden and asked was it legal and he told them yes it is legal and to please kill as many as they could.    They hired a helicopter and pilot for 4 hrs and killed 39 hogs and 13 coyotes

I slipped out this morning for apple fritter and paper, on the way back got up close to a nice 4 point (mule deer count) buck.  He was just standing next to my vehicle, less than 2' away.   Really nice looking rack and had the normal fat neck for a buck in rut.  Three does were on the other side of the road, and it was in a residential area.

Oh man ! Good sized deer. The only deer I've hunted were Sitka Black Tails on Kodiak Island. Much smaller. Good luck on your hunt

We usually spin 2 or 3 pigs a year. There aren't many/any wild ones around here so we have to get the tame ones. The wild ones we have been able to get were great !

Some one could save me a lot of money if they showed up and took the 3-5 deer my wife has been feeding in our back yard the last few months......    Deer Corn isn't real expensive until you start feeding a herd.
