Political thread, had a few good comments.  Including some links I put up to Colion Noir on youtube.  Unfortunately there were some blatant rules violations on the thread too.  Namecalling by a newbie but also oldtimers who know better.  Too bad the whole thread had to go.  I should have known better than to add my links - wasted my time, wanted to see comments from them; I shoulda known the thread would get yanked & I was wasting my time looking up the links and pasting them.

Sometimes I have to choose whether it is meaningful for me to keep going back to police a thread that has deteriorated into alternating personal attacks.  Then there's the choice of whether to take the time to remove all the crap posts and simply lock the thread or not.

I'm sure I sometimes make the wrong choice but honestly the pay is just not that good.   Wink

Willow you have a tough job.  I appreciate your frankness and attention to detail.  And you are right the pay could be a lot better

Know that, I for one, appreciate what you do and the decisions you have to make.  It would not be easy for me to do what you do.

Heck I probably would muck it all up....

Would that require a push? Can you push a thread?  I know you can bump one.

On a serious note, this site, or the threads on it don't belong to anyone. We are here due to courtesy of those who have taken the time to manage this effort.

Thanks to all who put this together and do what you must to keep your sanity.

I'm not sure. I think we need an official statistician. If a thread about a thread was pulled, wouldn't it be only fair to reinstate the OP ?  Smiley

Actually, it happens frequently.  A thread gets pulled, then someone comes back and reposts it or questions why it was pulled... resulting in the subsequent thread being pulled as well.

Coming from a forum that didn't allow religion or political discussions, I see here the opposite extreme. Kinda hard to find a middle to these subjects for sure but I try to keep my leanings one way or another pretty much to myself though guilty of a little participation here but minimal. Most of us here are of age and new members are becoming of age, I would think we have much to share about our separate lifetime paths/experiences w/o the politics and religion. I see too much keyboard "chest pounding". If I need this I can go to Facebook have a over abundance of this kind of behavior. Again this is observance on my part and in no persons or animals was mistreated in the the posting of thisGrin

I have to admit do have "momentary lapse of reason" syndrome at times but....who doesn't and I always blame it on the coffee.  cooldude

The coffee?   2funny
Not sure what's in that coffee but, if you find out, let us know.

I really try to keep my comments civil when discussing politics on this and another forum.   I often type a response and then read it several times to ensure I'm making the point I want to make and yet keep it civil.   Unfortunately, the politics of the day greatly effect our daily lives.   Who gets elected or put into elected positions can have a direct influence on so many things that I consider it my civic duty to stand up for what I believe in.   There have been times when Willow called me out for espousing something a bit to strongly but, I understand his position.

I am a Valkyrie rider and love my fat lady but, I'm also an American citizen who has sworn to uphold the Constitution and I take that seriously.   Government is too big and way to expensive to not get what the founding fathers fought for.
