There may come a day when the politically correct thing to do is to park my Valkyrie.  I realize that's somewhat of a silly thing but, if it ever happens, it will be because of politics.   Such as the New Green Deal.

They may decide the best way to build out a safe network
of self-driving cars and trucks is to regulate away all the whacky
un-networked vehicles (like motorcycles)...

Wow erase and lock the post rather than removing the straw posts  cooldude

I wonder why certain members get to incite, yet do not get deleted even though in the past they agreed not to post on political posts and even admitted their own inabilities. A real discussion with facts laid out to bolster a claim is something that both sides can come and agree with. But one that has no facts, no information, yet in any way they can question the others position and actually like was stated here becomes a straw man does nothing to contribute in a constructive way.

Plenty gets deleted.  A thread is typically locked or deleted when deleting individual posts is more trouble than it's worth.  The lock option is used so that the OP is still viewable.

I wonder why certain members get to incite, yet do not get deleted ...

Recent removals (deletions) have bee due to posters resorting to personal attack rather than addressing the subject being discussed.  That you wonder and what you wonder only illustrates your own blindness.  I moderate by the Rules and without regard for whose feelings may be hurt.  There is an exception.  Occasionally one will challenge me to delete his own post.  I know there's no entry in the Rules to address this but I am one to normally answer a challenge.

My advice - if there's someone or some several members you don't like then don't read or respond to that (those) member's posts.

I corrected your post since I know spelling infuriates you no end and you don't want to seem unintelligent which you have said of others in their spelling errors.

My first response was a bit snarky but did observe the rules of the road, which was erased.

My second comment which was erased along with Baldo's posts were in full observance of the rules of the road, and the discussion while not particularly meaningful did have an exchange of ideas. yet miraculously, Meats post that says nothing implies that there are answers yet offers none and is meant to incite, stays.

This is actually the offending post that got the others erased, since really it was this post that created the other responses.

I have mentioned it before and this time because it was not erased, I have an example of the one liners that are put there for one reason to rev things up and inject this persons opinions in places that he may not have an answer yet gives a jab or snarky response.

Like any normal conversation give the answer not a deflection and jab.

In your moderation I would be surprised you would not see this since many do, and knowing Your patience is due to self control and not compassion, I understand this and appreciate this.

So the only thing I can attribute not erasing this to is favoritism of someone who while a good person does not need to be into every conversation unless he can defend that position.

Baldo while I do not agree with his political position and is very sly and sharp when commenting does not inflame the conversation all the time since he does offer validation of his position.

Thank you all moderators for your consideration and thank you for your control and thanks for the board.

Typographical errors don't bother me nearly as much as you seem to think they do although I do try to review my posts to remove them before posting.  Repeated misuse of terms or misspelling does irritate me.

I can't make any sense of your claim by what you pointed to.  Your and baldo's posts were removed because of personal attack.  When I remove a post I will also remove every post that quotes the offending item.

Thank you for the consideration and this explains it.

His post is a implication that questions the premise that there is a deeper troubling issue.

Normal posts give explanations or examples in support for their statements.

As he gives no explanation or example.

He was not in the discussion.

What was the intent of the post?

I'm having a hard time following this dialogue that seems to involve me tangentially. Robert is pissed at me because he and baldo called each other names ? Sometimes I really do have a difficult time understanding you conservatives.

I don't think Robert is a name-caller, and I really don't remember calling him anything. I don't even remember what thread it was, what was said and what got deleted.

Grin I've never wrote anything that wasn't worthy of a Pulitzer.  Smiley It's strange coming into a conversation that appears about oneself, but not really about oneself. When things get pulled, or people change their post, it gets hard to follow. I just didn't understand where I fit in this.

I have an idea Bob. But I would need your cooperation. Well, not really cooperation. But I wouldn't want to do it without your understanding. When I first started on this forum, there was a dude named Strong Eagle. Actually he had a bunch of names, but that's the one I remember him by. He was the undisputed champion of being the most disliked/hated guy here. Anvil also had his detractors, but he came in a distant second (IMO). It's been my opinion that I have taken that mantle over for some time. But some recent posts have me wondering about this designation.
My proposal is to set up a poll (anonymous,of course) to decide which of us should be anointed the champion. It would need an end date for voting. Something like "the first Tuesday in December". Of course it goes without saying that campaigning during this time would have to be curtailed. Otherwise there would be court cases and recounts to deal with. I think in order to fairly gauge this dislike/hatred the populace should be able to register this emotion on a daily, if not hourly basis.

Neither you nor Baldo come anywhere close to being in Strong Eagle's league.  He's one of very few ppl who have been banned from here.  I'm personally not in favor of the poll; it seems like it might encourage unlikeable behavior.  Besides, neither of you would be my choice for most disliked.

Please don't try harder.  It's not a good thing.  SE being most hated had nothing to do with his politics; it was his constant personal attacks, rule breaking, and other keyboard commando BS.  SE was about his 5th or 6th handle.  He was actually a nice guy in person.
