The Dragon...Let's Ride

I'm headin' out for Deals Gap today and hoping the recent rain a couple days ago will have the nasty salt washed off the roads . I should be at the over-look between 11:00 / 11:30 and at Deals Gap around noon.I plan to make the loop through The Hellbender and may even check out Cherohala Skyline depending on what the roads look like.Temps are at 25 degree's as I type this and the sky is clear. Hey Normandog give me a call tonight and let me know if you plan to ride with us on the Alabama-Georgia Ride on Monday... I just looked at the forecast and if it holds true " The Kiss My Ice Ride " to Mt. Mitchell on New Years Day will be a no go on my part.With I-40 still closed that will add about 150 miles to my round trip and the weather is going to turn nasty on New Years Eve . Don't think I'll ride out on a 400 mile ride with them calling for adverse travel conditions on Thursday evening and Friday....Y'all be careful

I rode the Snake last week (before the snow) but they had already
pre-treated all of 91 and 421. Before I got to the Country Store my
Valk looked almost white...as did my chaps and boots. The good news
is that stuff comes off pretty easy with just water. Watch out for the
"bargain hunters" taking the long way to Wal-Mart!!

About eight this morning I thought about ridin' over to Deal's Gap and hookin up with ya. Then I remembered it was misting rain last nite and temp dropping. Didn't want to encounter the dreaded Black Ice. Hope you have a good ride today.
As for the KMI, I saw that forecast this morning. It don't look good. I'm not gonna leave out in any kind of precip.
