I assume that is Canadian dollars. It still seems a little high for a standard. Is that a good price up there?

Are you looking to buy, or your friend? I've seen this ad before on another site. Valks are always 2-3 grand more here than in the US, even after exchange. If everything checks out and everything's been replaced/updated that should be after sitting for so long (and I didn't already have mine), I'd consider paying 7 grand for it . It would basically be a new classic bike, and a heck of a lot more bike that anything other new bike you could get these days for twice or three times more $$.

I figured you’d see this Yeah a friend that lives on the island is interested in it. I suggested if it had been advertised for a while he may want to wait a bit more then throw out an offer regardless of the ad saying price is firm. Knowing the ad has been out before may help that cause. I figured maybe 6 being a standard but what do I know.....I’ve never bought one!

I’d agree at $4500 USD which works out to about $6200 Canadian.

A good price for a Standard in B.C. right now is $3500 to $4000. Mileage in the 30 to 60 thousand kilometers. There was an interstate that sat for months on line at $4500 100,000 kms. It sold for $4000. The problem with buying a low mileage bike for top dollar is it loses value If you ride it. I like low mileage as much as the next guy but the price has to be realistic. My $.02
I would value this at $4500 to $5000 max

Brian, where have you seen Valks for $3500 in BC? If I had seen a decent one for that price earlier this year I would have been very tempted to snap it up. The ones I'm seeing that aren't obviously neglected maintenance-wise, are all up above 5 grand. ps...I sent you a PM last week...check it out

There was a 97 Standard in Qualicum with chrome side covers and six into six pipes for $3799 on Kijiji for 2 weeks in the early summer. Used Victoria had a tourer for $4100 with 2 brothers exhaust. It was for sale for months. Will check the PM . If your looking for another Valk I will pass on any deals I see.
