Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

This is a great song that my good friend Raymond (Whooray) sent me this AM, its in German, so I translated it to English.
This song hits close to home for many of us of friends lost.
Thanks for watching

Das hier ist für uns….
This is for us……

Life and death, lay close together
Love and pain, go hand in hand
Yesterday we were still laughing, talked and were thinking
What have we all experienced in life?

Unfortunately, we never know how much time we have left
It’s always too soon, one is never prepared
Now we go our way, one last time

This is for all that have gone
Your names are still whispering in the wind
This is for all that still feel life, and with grieving heart…
This is for us

Time heals all wounds, may be so
Maybe then one does not feel so alone
It still hurts, it is still so difficult
Since you left Its hard to breathe
Does it ever ease, will it ever stop

This is for all that have gone
Your names are still whispering in the wind
This is for all that still feel life, and with grieving heart…
This is for us

Unfortunately, we never know how much time we have left
It’s always too soon, one is never prepared
Now we go our way, one last time

This is for all that have gone
Your names are still whispering in the wind
This is for all that still feel life, and with grieving heart…

This is for all that have gone
Your names are still whispering in the wind
This is for all that still feel life, and with grieving heart…
This is for us
This is for us

Good song, and cool video. Most "biker/brotherhood" songs are a little too cringe-worthy for me, but this one actually has a much more meaningful and broader message...agreed, it can probably relate well to a lot of us personally.

Kind of a funny story, speaking of the German language. My Mom was born and raised in Germany, my Dad although born in Canada, grew up speaking German as his family including older siblings were born in Germany as well. The Mrs's dad is also from Germany, so she learned to speak German as well growing up. I grew up just outside of Nelson BC, on the shores of Kootenay Lake. As kids, my sister, brother, and me were sent to German school in town during the Summer weekends, so we could carry on the family heritage by learning to communicate in the family's native tongue. Unlike my more studious sister and brother, who both did learn to speak and understand German to a decent extent, the slightly more rebellious of the three (me Grin) skipped out every weekend by running 3 miles along the beach back home. The folks eventually gave up and let me stay home.
Fast forward a couple of decades, I met the lovely blue-eyed blonde future Mrs msb, Lisa Schmidt (can't get more German than Schmidt Wink). Not taking an immediate shine to this (at the time) HD-riding scruffy looking character in the first place, the future in-laws and especailly the future grandparent-in-laws, were absolutely mortified to find out that this dude who their daughter had hooked up with came directly from good German stock and couldn't speak or understand a lick of German. The grandparents totally shunned me, which I didn't relly mind because I wasn't that fond of them either, but my winning personality Wink and obvious capabilities of being a good husband to their daughter, eventually did...at least I think so...begrudgingly  make the father and mother in-law come around to accept me.

It's funny now though, I do wish I had made an effort back then to learn at least a bit of German...same as with French when I skipped out of all those mandatory classes we had throughout elementary school here back in the day. As an adult, the appreciation of being able to understand and converse in another language is much more greatly appreciated.

Mike, Kinda funny how that works out.
For me its the opposite, I truly believe if I did not speak German my better half and I would not be together as she did not speak much English asides what she was mandatorily made to learn in school.
My in laws are the best and accepted me right away and I have always felt as part of the family.
Now that all said, mind you, I was born here in the states of German parents, and move to Germany at the ripe old age of 4, went to German schools, spent most of my time with my Oma and Opa on the weekends.
When I finally did move back to the states as a teenager I had to learn to speak English again as it was not native to me anymore. I understood it, but had a hard time speaking it without sounding like a foreigner.... crazy2
The ironic part is that nowadays I speak both without an accent unless you want one, I have learned to mimic the German accents as well as most American ones.....Which pisses Petra off something fierce as I can adapt to most areas and not sound out of place.
