The deer weren’t showing this morning so I took off the orange and put on the leathers, and took what could be the last ride of 2020. Burned half a tank and still got my deer! Refilled tank, seafoam added, and parked. Got 9+ inches of OT coming tomorrow so this might be it... Craig

I pulled my batteries 2 weekends ago when high temps dropped into low 30's for the day. Still could take out tomorrow though no snow yet and high 40 or so but is only 1 day or so and high of 40 is about as low as I go for a ride nowadays. also, for those that might not know, you can contact your insurance company when go for last ride of the year and put your cycles on winter layaway until spring, usually for me close to April 1st, and save a few bills off your rates as well.

Cookiedough, 9+ inches of OT means we’re getting s@*w. I believe the s word has been banned here. I work for the DPW in my town, hence the s word means riding money for 2021. And yeah, I spread that other bad word that begins with s also... Craig

I'm sorry for you. It's another reason for me to be pleased to not live in Massachusetts. Incidentally some of my ancestors did. John Milks of Boston descended from an arrival about ten years after the Mayflower but you wouldn't know of him if you didn't live in Boston.

My ancestors came from Scotland & Canada much later than yours. And there are many reasons to not live in Massachusetts. Craig

I did get out this afternoon for a short ride, maybe again tomorrow. A bit chilly for my taste (around 54F this afternoon), but tolerable.
Edit 12-9-2020 1900 CST - yes I got out for a ride around lunchtime - went to pickup from Jersey Mikes sub shop.

Yeah, believe my 2020 riding season is done. Between the snow last weekend, and the black ice last night, we dumped tons of Salt on the roads. Craig

Yeah, believe my 2020 riding season is done. Between the snow last weekend, and the black ice last night, we dumped tons of Salt on the roads. Craig My last Valk ride of 2020 was 2 weeks ago. She's on the jack now for maintenance - new tires, rear end service, brake fluid, radiator flush, finally fixing up my electrical rat's nest under my seat, and a whole lot of cleaning. Goes back on the road late February/early March after Winter ends. Out on my new old Wing a lot this past week...she'll be my ride throughout the Winter months, anytime we get some decent weather and without any brine residue on the roads (get plenty of rain in between intermittent periods of snow/ice here, which does a great job of washing off the roads). Old man Winter hasn't really come down from the mountains here yet.

I'm still lost, more confused now after the explanation. My wife googled swear words that start with "S" to assist me. That was a mistake, although we haven't laughed that hard in years.

The two words us riders here in MA hate with a passion. I'll say 'em out loud. Snow, and even worse, salt. Damn salt. I will ride in the cold, but once the roads have that perpetual coating of white, I'm out. I just can't do that to a bike; it just feels wrong.
