I am proud to announce the newest addition to our family, a 2001 Red/Black Interstate. We are taking it down to KY the first week in Feb to have Hannigan put a sidecar on it. I am posting two pics, one with chrome side covers, and one with the original red side covers. Which do YOU prefer? And for those who know me, the 97 Purple/White is NOT for sale! I am also posting a pic as I am starting to create a shop in my garage for my bikes. Part of my collection of banners and signs is on the wall. Thanks. MP .jpg) %20red%20covers.jpg)

Red. Then again, I don't like the looks of the chrome side covers. Breaks up the lines of the Valk. Of course it is a personal preference and it is your preference that counts.

I will cast my vote for the Red side covers. I think the chrome side covers look best on Black. And good for you keeping the Purple & White. They are the rarest and fastest of them all.

Red/burgundy.
and when you get the side car installed, make sure you stop in Eau Claire and let me have a ride! i have always wanted to ride in a side car! don't forget to include pictures of the side car!
also, we've got an extra room for you to stay in, or that is unless Karsten's already invited you.

I go with the red covers too. With the chrome ones it breaks up the colour between the fairing and the luggage. Superb looking ride On my red/white standard the original red covers look out of place amongst the chrome,so I have the chrome ones fitted. I must say,I really do like the look of the Interstate, always have.In the UK they are as rare as hens teeth and the odd one that comes up for sale will be priced at around £8000,,,,,about $12,750. So if there's anyone with a load of spare cash and want to send some Interstates over, you could make a fortune. And don't forget to send me one, free of charge, for the idea.

Dangit! Another multi-Valkyrie stable! You guys are either making it really hard on me or showing me how it should be done. Congratulations. She's really pretty. Red.

Congrats on your new arrival! Soon you'll be hearing the pitter-patter of little... hmmm... can't think of anything that pitter-patters. I've always preferred the painted side covers.

I'd go red with your color set-up. Let me know if you are interested in letting go of the chrome.

I pulled and put a new U-joint in the bike yesterday. Keep the old one for a spare as it seemed good. The bike has 67,000 miles. The final drive flange splines were bad, so I put a complete new used unit in. Matching driveshaft, rear end, and flange. Changed rear end oil over to Royal Purple synthetic.
Put on new brake pads. Switched the rotor over to a wheel with a new General Altimax 205-60 -16 on it. I put two heavy right side bearings in it. Need to take .02" off the spacer yet, as it is too tight yet. Ct's are especially good for sidecars, as they do not lean.
I have NIB Hondaline trunk guard rails to install yet, and almost mint Hondaline saddlebag guard rails too. Am looking for Hondaline saddlebag lid guards.

I love sidecars!!! Please post pictures of the rig when completed. I have a sidecar setting in my enclosed trailer that I hope to put on a bike someday.

MP...what a total waste to put a sidecar on an Interstate. Here's my opinion on what to do. Bring me the I/S on your way to Ky and take my yellow/creme tourer down and put your sidecar on it. And please put the red sidecovers on before you deliver it. Thanks,
Dave
