Try to down load limewire or anything like this for that matter. I keep getting 'your security settings do not allow this to be down loaded.' Grrrrr!  Angry I have moved the little bar and everything, but no luck. I know someone might know something! Its windows xp. I have no other security stuff installed.

Keep in mind my son and I fried one of our computers back in the day while down-loading free share music. When you turned it on it would lock up . I paid some waterhead $75.00 to " fix " it ....It never worked right and is now sitting in garage holding up more junk. When we got it back from getting " fixed " it would throw pop-ups at you faster than you could delete and was slower than a Harley  Sad

I would suggest that you go in and restore your security settings to the Windows Default at a minimum and then reboot.  Try again and if still no go, try to isolate the issue by program, or look for a firewall that might be set too high.

Fudgie unless there is a specific reason you are trying to install Limewire, I would recommend you use one of the many Torrent sites to download stuff (being respectful of copyright laws and all that good stuff).

One of the most popular programs for downloading Torrents is a product called BitTorrent:

http://www.bittorrent.com/?client=bittorrent6300

Once you have installed BitTorrent, you can browse many Torrent sites to find stuff to download.  One of my favorite is BTJunkie

http://btjunkie.org/

This haven been said you might run into the same problem you are having with Limewire if you have a firewall closing off access to the port needed by the application.  Default port for Limewire is 6346 and the default port for BitTorrent is 26155.  If you need help, shoot me an email (email address is in my profile) and I will try to help.
