We love Prescott AZ. That is where our retirement dreams reside.  cooldude

I agree that Prescott is a great choice. Altitude is 4600’ which results in a very moderate climate. Great BBQ every Oct by John/Donna.

My younger and only brother just scored a deal on a fixer upper townhouse right smack on the beach in the north end of Ocean City MD,bout a half mile south of the Delaware line

The view from the deck is awesome.

It is a bit far to go for the weekend for me but for him living outside Baltimore it is just right

He will probably retire before me too.

Still waiting for Gig and Lulu to visit.  Hot tub is 104.  Sitting in the hot tub in the falling snow is a treat

It's a beautiful place. I can't explain it but the first time we went we already felt like it could be home. Very friendly folks, interesting things to do from hiking to desert UTV trails to golfing and fishing. It has 4 seasons that include a very mild winter and the snow only lasts a day or two typically. Being almost a mile up they have much cooler summers than down on the desert floor in Phoenix. Perfectly situated between Flagstaff and Phoenix you can drive an hour and a half either way and be in snow or 90 degree temperatures. Only downside in the last few years are all the fleeing Californians moving in and driving up housing prices and pushing their "values" on a largely conservative area. When we were exchanging pleasantries with a local last year at breakfast we told him we were considering moving  out there in the next few years. He asked us where we were from and we said Indiana. He said "Oh good, we like Midwesterners, Californians not so much.  Grin

They light up the town square over Christmas and it is stunning.

The grass is always greener............

giving this one a lot of thought myself but wife wants to be near grandkids

The wife and I have both been talking about where we'd like to live once we're retired.

Florida comes to mind and we were seriously looking for some land before Covid locked everything down.

Cost Rica also comes to mind.

The weather is warm and the beach is still close to the mountains.

She voiced concerns about not seeing the kids and the grandkids.

I told her that if we have a house near the beach with a swimming pool, they will come visit us.

me too  cooldude

You and Lulu are welcome to visit Ginger and I anytime.

But you have to bring your own coffee maker.  Evil
Costa Rica sounds like a nice place for an INZANE don't ya think...................  Wink

OK, that's a plan.
Ron will begin shipping bikes down to Costa Rica at Mark's place near the beach with a pool. Might have to quarantine there a spell... No one should object to the use of the name. Else it will be renamed "InRicacooldude

I just hit 60 this summer, 65 is the current plan. We just built a new house this summer in what appears to be a really popular area, hoping that pays off as an investment for our move to AZ. The problem is that the recent influx of Californians is really driving up the prices. If our timing is right we hope to be ready to move as the housing bubble out there bursts. LOL
