Boston Dynamics is moving along quite well it seems. Some of these robots are beginning to look very similar to robot soldiers in a Star Wars video game my son played a long time ago. Maybe they we in one of the newer released movies too, I don’t recall.

I wonder if they can program one to learn a martial art so ot can stand guard somewhere.

I haven't looked at any Boston Dynamic videos recently, they're better every
time  Shocked ... they don't have to have power and control wires hooked to them
anymore. I don't have a clue as to how choreographed this is, probably very,
but as their ability to be made autonomous improves it seems like they could
definitely be robot soldiers or nuclear core repairmen or ... ?

Whether artificial intelligence is advancing depends entirely upon how the programing for the robots was acquired.  If they were originally programmed to respond to that music it is not impressive.  If they were "taught" to dance by example and would respond differently to various music that would be more impressive.

The demonstration simply doesn't offer enough to say that AI is getting closer to human intelligence.  Your own brain is almost unbelievably complex.  Computer programming is certainly advancing in the amount of memory able to be stored and means for programming but ability to program even itself for a particular task does not demonstrate anything that approaches human capability.

I have a small understanding of what you’re explaining but you have to admit the dexterity and what seemed like good fluid movements from those robots is impressive...at least to me it is, especially the ones on 2 legs.

I'd like to see how they do against .30 caliber rifle fire.

They're not going to let them in the NBA, NFL or NHL.

That might depend on if they convert the whole league of players to AI forms (I actually read a SyFi story where they did that - NFL had gotten too brutal for humans to play anymore).
