No they didnt. Didnt play a game until week 6.  Say what you will. Yes they are a good team but when you have players that are fresh because they have been sitting home on saturdays and practicing playing teams that have played 11-12 games and have been beaten on for a FULL season. It is what it is I guess.
If Clemson didnt have Lawrence they would be a 7-4 team at best.

First, it's not their fault the Big Ten overreacted to the pandemic bait so strongly.

Second, wear and tear notwithstanding, not playing more games puts you at a disadvantage, not an advantage team experience wise.  IMHO

Honestly, I didn’t think they deserved to be there either but, they did prove themselves to be the better team last night.

Guess we’ll see how good they really are when they play Alabama.

As I've seen many a bowl games, I haven't seen anybody put a performance on like they did last nite to be "not deserving". Cincinnati sure stunk it up after crying they were "deserving". The FBS got it right under circumstances we are living/dealing with. Ron Day 2nd. season couldn't have been better as Ohio State was 22-1 before last nite and the only loss was to Clemson last year in the playoffs. This was one of the best performances they as a team put up in quite a while. Very well coached and besides Dabo went and ran his mouth off about placing them "11th. in rankings" kinda added fuel to the fire. Had a lot of respect for Dabo until then.  Wait until Trevor Lawrence gets to Jacksonville and playing in the NFL if he decides to go pro. He got a prelim last nite. So was Clemson deserving should have been the question afterwords? BTW Bama didn't put on a stellar performance yesterday either. Decent but not Bama capable. But I'm sure they were "coasting".   Wink Smiley

Only thing that turned out good in the BIG10 was Purdue didn't play IU for the Oaken Bucket and get demoralized.  Grin

Hey H13, Indiana fielded a great team this year (I especially like the coach).  Gave Ohio State a very good game (better than Clemson), after a slow start.

Imma be watchin' the Outback Bowl in about an hour.  Go Hoosiers!    cooldude

I was a Hoosier from '59 to '62 up in Valpo (riding a Schwinn) .   Smiley

I'm not John, I'm Jess.  Smiley

I have not been back to Valpo since '62 when I left.  A while back I tried to find a picture of my old three story brick elementary school at Cook's Corners, but it's long torn down, and no old pics to be found.  It was already old when I attended back then.

I'm sure I would not recognize it now, though I did find the house I lived in from '59 to '62 in street view (somewhat improved).

Yeah, I did not realize Indiana had lost their great quarterback to injury.  The poor backup struggled all day and it was not much of a game (for them).

THe Bucks looked great. If they play like that in 10 days, it should be a helluva a championship game.
The pro team outa Bama is still the cream of the crop though. We’ll see if the Buckeyes can effect Jones, like they did to Clemson’s pretty boy.  Personally I think Bama has more options on offense and OSU won’t be able to contain them all. Too bad Michigan didint here Ryan Day when they’d had a chance.

To this day I never understood hiring Jim Harbaugh. He whined more than any other QB in the NFL, got lucky in San Fran as everything was setup before he took over (and still couldn't deliver), and quite obviously can't do well in the Big10 as the coaching talent is better OAL. Used to be a good conference until they split it up.

The Ohio State quarterback is the second toughest guy I ever saw.

After riding to Brasstown Bald with Smokin' Joe while his lung was
collapsed, I have to say he's the first...
