After reading Bruce's "You can run, but you can't hide" post. It got me thinking about some of my memorable rides. Many have no pics or videos. Maybe #1 for me was 6 months in '77 on a new 750 Yamaha traveling the western half of the country. Looking back, that's probably the point I became a man. Seeing things on your own in a new way has a profound effect on a person. I think I can remember every minute of those 6 months.
#2 is likely our trip to Ireland a few years back. We toured around on BMW's with another couple. It was a great trip ! We drove to Vegas and flew for most of the day and night. Got into Dublin in the morning and got the bikes. Rode a hundred miles or so to have dinner with some friends of Greg and Debbie's. Then rode on down to Cashel for the night. Everybody was beat, but Greg and I were still excited about being in a strange new land, and wanted to experience more. We found a local pub and had a few while talking with some locals. A group of 3 come in as we were about to leave and convinced us to stay for another. They were some home remodeling guys that had just got off work. We had a great time partying with them, and they talked us in to going down the street to a young people dancing bar. We had enough in us to be dangerous at this time, and went along. By the time we closed the place down I was pretty well lit. We get outside and it's darker than Hell and I have no idea the direction of the B&B, and no idea even of the address. Luckily Greg had an idea of the direction and we eventually made it back. WE WERE STARTING THIS ADVENTURE OFF RIGHT !
We met so many nice people. So many cool places. It was an epic adventure for sure. I just watched a video of it, and my filming doesn't do it justice. But it got me to watch another video that was made automatically by the iPhone people. It made me realize what a blessed man I am.

Take those blessings and run with them as far and as fast as one's aging legs can carry him.
Take those blessings and pass them on to those young legs who will be following in your footsteps (or tire tracks); let them know how much fun it is to live life in the lane that you feel most comfortable traveling in, be it 55, 65, 75, or 95!
If you give people a chance, most times they'll surprise you with some joy and love and acceptance. coolsmiley

We get outside and it's darker than Hell and I have no idea the direction of the B&B, and no idea even of the address.

Nothing whatsoever to do with bikes.... but with drinking.

A few times in my life (all long ago), always in some new place visiting, I walked around and hit bars (with music, maybe dancing, etc) all over town until the wee hours, and when I walked (staggered) outside to go home, I had no idea where I was (other than the town), or where my car or hotel was.  Of course, no business driving.

Once or twice, I didn't speak the local language either.

Once was in the Quarter in New Orleans (which I bet is pretty common) (I got a cab and told him to drive me out and around the motels near the freeway, and I would probably recognize it) (they supposedly speak English there, but that still doesn't mean you can understand each other).

Once the temp had dropped to below zero, and I almost froze to death finding my car in a parking garage across town.  That sobered me up quite a bit (but I think one of my testicles was never right after that).

Each time, I needed a small message pinned to my shirt or coat with my name and address and other pertinent details on it.  But you never think about it until it's too late.

After watching your vid, I'm in agreement with this statement.

So many cool pics, vids, and loved ones.

Even Scott "I think she digs me" got a cameo.

By the time we closed the place down

From my experience, you don't close down the bars in Ireland.  They typically don't close 'til the last person leaves.  We had several departures when it was light outside (the next morning).
