Best of the season to everyone.
I am in the process of rebuilding my 99 Interstate. I have decided to go to the 'Dark Side' and give that a try. In addition, I'd like to lower the bike a little. I have ordered the 6 degree triple tree, and would like to lower the rear end a little. Has anyone done the Progressive 412's and the Goodyear 205/60 R16 Triple Tread? I have removed the nut cages, just because I had the fenders off for painting.
So my real question is, can I put 11.5" 412's and a GY205/60R16 together?
Or, has anyone done the 416 Air Shocks and the GY205/60R16 together? If yes, how low do the 416s go?
Best regards,
Glenn

I ran the 416s with a 205/60/16 and when riding two-up the tire would rub the under side of the fender on a hard bump. The little box under the rear fender that the wiring plug for the rear lights is in is what it rubbed on. It only rubbed two-up and that was with 50psi in the shocks.

I had 12.5" 412's on my IS with a GYTT 60 profile tire. I'm a big guy at 280 and with my wife on it and the shocks at 5 preload, we rubbed a bit on the bigger bumps if I didn't slow down a bit. I have done the nut cage thing as well as moved the right side of the fender over a bit with the washer mod. I put on about 150 miles on the shocks and went back to some stockers. Got 'em for sale for $125 if your interested. Send me an email.

Had air shocks and am much happier with the 440's and I feel less vulnerable to failure.AND.....they're purdy.

Here is 11 1/2 -412 shocks, Goodyear TT 205-60-16 already did the nut cage mod for a 200 Metz i ran prior, 90% of my travel is with Co pilot, I recommend 3rd notch on the pre-load, no rubbing.

You Cats are the best. That is what I needed to know and what I needed to see! Thanks - Happy new year! I'll send pics as this girl comes gets her parts. The love of my life and I are going to be rolling out of Victoria for the Grand Canyon via Vagus, & back, starting May 1st. I have a lot if work to do before then. We had our 27th anniversary a couple of weeks ago and I suggested the ride and she said OK. She has challenged me to get the bike read in time . Sounds like 'two-up' on the Dark Side goes well. I have decided to do a stealth lighting (blue) job. Things are going over the top fairly quickly, it seems. Any of you done a very cool lighting job? Betcha everyone reading would love to see pictures. Best regards, Glenn

Best regards, Glenn Well Glen, you asked about lights, this is what I’ve been working on this winter. not done yet, but I think you’ll get the idea. There are a total of 108, 2mm LED’s. 12 on each POD, 24 on each saddle, and 36 on the trunk. I was thinking of putting some on the side covers, but haven’t come up with a cool design yet. I’ll be hiding ten or so under the fuel tank to reflect off of the chrome. Hopefully everything comes together by spring! The hardest part about doing these lights was drilling the first hole. Wondering if I was doing the right thing, but once I started, I was committed to doing the best I could. As for being stealthy, the LED’s have a flat head and are smooth to the touch when mounted flush to the surface, they take on the surrounding color when they’re off. The ones in the pod, and under the trunk are pushed in all the way so that they give off the most amount of light.

Hey, alph:
You going to be bringing those lights to the VOAI ride in in June in LaCrosse? Hope to see them there!
