We are allowed to see what we are allowed to see
You have perhaps a million people leaving toward Pennsylvania Avenue I thought more but take into account many like myself left to go home after the many hours standing in the cold once we finally were able to leave the area of the ellipse and monument
100% no doubt this was a peaceful lawful assembly at the White House/Ellipse/Washington Monument on Wednesday This was patriotic americans showing their love of their country
That is the only possible starting point of any objective analysis of the events
The assembly average age was not youthful. Many veterans, seniors, people my age (60's) and a good number of younger americans as well. Met people from many states who put their lives on hold to show their POTUS that they believed they were being disenfranchised and did not enjoy it. There was nothing but people proud to be able to give support to their President who had been unfairly ridiculed, falsely attacked, censored and demeaned by the media. When have you ever heard a million voices yelling we love you to their President? Yet it happened spontaneously many times. As calls to Stop the Steal
It is a long walk after 6 hours (some were there before dawn) standing in the cold of Washington from the Ellipse grounds to the Capitol
We all saw that the Police barricades made it all but impossible to not walk with others down the road once you started down that Avenue I did see 2 separate groups walking from another direction (Federal Circle) toward the Capitol. They were IMHO not from the White House rally and I did hear antifa chants of F Trump Perhaps some of these were instigators?
As the crowd was against the Capitol making noise as is their Constitutional right to do so, some police opened fire, some people wrongly attempted to enter the Capitol and tear gas was used. That was wrong. What should have happened was people should have been provided avenues to leave. This was Kent State, not the riot the press portrays, I believe in the future it will be so portrayed as Kent State was portrayed
Where the heck were the CAPITOL POLICE (DC cops, FBI etc have no jurisdiction there) and why did they NOT do their job. This was no surprise. Every other street for a mile or more had dozens of secret service and DC police with hundreds of police cars everywhere. EVERYONE knew the people were coming.
Don't tell me this was not a set up You had seniors and others shot and then the crowd went wild as they had a right to do.. No police fired on antifa in Portland or anywhere ever, why here? When students took over administration buildings when I was in college they were not shot
While I am in favor, as I have said, of punishing all who entered unlawfully, I am against the portrayal of the people as a MOB or Rioters. No building was set afire unlike what Antifa and BLM did repeatedly this summer.
People were clearly given access to the Capitol, but by whom? I never saw one cop with a Blue mask All were issued BLACK masks that I saw. Only my bus driver had a blue mask
I never ever thought I would say this but I am more and more inclined to believe that Marshal law will be declared at some point. It is warranted as it was in Lincoln's time.
Why? Because there was a cover up and fraud of historic proportions, Because the media have censored in violation of everything holy about the 1st amendment. Because even now, with his term over the venal left is seeking to impeach a President for nothing I heard the speeches. There was no incitement to riot. I have nothing but contempt for almost all members of Congress and the media and imho Pence is a coward and a sell out Twitter accounts and FB are blocked.
You can disagree This is my view only. And I will continue to tell you why
Certify means true. I practice what I preach. If I am running an election (and I have run many over 40 years now) and there are 10% more votes than voters I do not certify. If I have even a doubt I run a full diagnostic from beginning to end AND when I count I allow each side to sit next to me.
I do not hide evidence. I would make voting machines immediately available. I would immediately examine envelopes to compare signatures to ballots and I certainly do not exclude poll watchers after federal court orders them access To say no evidence is beyond STUPID it is complicit I now assume anyone who would NOT investigate to be part of the coup of america
You sometimes have to exhume a body because it was buried before evidence could be collected. The Democrats buried the body - the ballots envelopes and machines.. This is evidence of guilt on its own
Obama spoke of transparency. Yeah right. The same person who signed a bill nobody could read, led by an old witch who said we needed to pass it to see what it said. Do not piss on us and say its raining
The job of journalism is to INVESTIGATE. Not today apparently. Today the so called journalists are not fit to carry respect as they do not do so. Remember Watergate? There was dogged investigation Here Nothing to see move on...
If any person fails to do proper dilligence then it is they who are TREASONOUS and deserve the wrath of the people and the eventual condemnation and damnation by their God.
I am proud that I cared enough to go, grateful that I had the instinct to leave with my (pretty damn cold and tired) wife and sense to not pre-judge what happened at the Capitol.
May the Lord bless this country and protect us from the evils that abound

You're right.
The job of journalism is to SELL ADS. Pick the group or persuasion you want to sell ads to and go to town saying what they want to hear.

Thank you for going and representing many of us who couldn’t. Anyone who doesn’t see this for what it is, is a fool. So sad for our country to embrace socialism and this level of bullshit.

@Oss: is good to have the perspective of someone who was there. I'm also happy you decided to leave earlier before the whole chaos insued. I will repeat what I said in last June when there were the BLM protests: "One of the things that I most admired in the USA is the 'rule of the law', where no one is above the law. I said before and time again that I oppose looters and hope they will face the consequences and have to pay for the losses. I also oppose needless use of force by the police. You can do both (i.e. oppose looters, point to excess by the agents of the State) at same time. " There is one thing though that I noticed that people were not discussing here. The United States of America government has 3 branches: executive, legislative and judiciary ( https://www.usa.gov/branches-of-government). The rioters incited by 45th towards the Capitol managed to shutdown the legislative for 5 hours. Context is important: they were not voting something random, they were validating the results of the election that 45th lost. Historically, shutting down the legislative is the first thing you do in a coup. What follows next is controlling the courts by replacing the judges. Say what you want, but the 45th managed to shutdown the legislative in one way or the other. What would have happened if he asked his supporters to go home during his rally? And stopped with this big lie of a stolen election? Conceded that Biden won? I bet things would have been different. That is unprecedented and damaging to the democracy and good standing of the USA in the world. And yes, 45th is responsible. That is his legacy. He is the commander in chief and should take the blame for it.

Thanks for the first hand account Oss. I sure don't see the media investigating much, which would entail interviewing some of the scary deplorables lawful patriots who were actually there. They'd rather lump you into that bloodthirsty mob.
It makes one wonder why. Could it be they'd like to keep observers on the outside, looking in? They can interpret to their liking and tell the world what "really" went down -- from their sanctimonious perspective.

I've reporters talking about the protesters and interviewing them. Most said they were respectful. Some a little whacky, but no threat of violence. It seems there was a more "hardcore" group that made their way to the Capitol building pretty quickly, with a plan. Carrying pepper spray, zip tie hand cuffs, and pipes seems premeditated to me.
