Chuck, thanks for hosting the wrench party. It was great to see some old friends, put faces to friends that I've never met in person, and to make some new friends. Getting my hands dirty was and added plus. Sorry that I had to run, but hope you and Rainmaker got everything back together. Thanks again, gf

Thanks GF,
Every motorcycle left under its own power and every rider had a smile on their face.
I had a great day today, thanks everyone.
We have to do the fork party soon, my Progressives are here and my suspension is beginning to feel like a pogo stick.

Thanks for hosting, Chuck. Glad to see you got some grease on those splines - makes me wonder why anyone goes to dealers for repair these days!
I have a front tire to change today so see you guys later.

Thanks Chuck. Ditto everything godfire said. And yes, I'm ready for a fork wrench party, too.
I'm glad they are called wrench parties because wrench appointments or wrench get-togethers would be understatements.

You guys did an awsome job of installing Joe's light bar. He finished the modifications to the windshield tonight and it looks great. I really like the way the wiring is done. My lamps go out when I hit the high beams. I really like the fact that his stay on during high or low beam. Guess I'll have to rewire mine now!! Always something! Just a great big ole thank you for helping him. L

Hey Doc, please ask Joe if he wound up with an extra 5mm allen wrench. We were using it on his turn signals and it didn't make it home with me. Thanks

Glad to see you got some grease on those splines - makes me wonder why anyone goes to dealers for repair these days! To clarify Marks comment, I had Honda replace the final drive on my Valk approximately one year ago. I bought an extended warranty from them since my scoot had 70,000 miles on her and this repair was covered. When I pulled the spines on Saturday they were dry and heavily rusted and one of the o-rings was missing. I wish I had pulled it apart once I got the bike home from Honda to verify the work, it would have saved some wear and tear on all of those new parts. I also wish I had taken pictures of the rusty, o-ring missing mess to take to Maxim and yell some at the service manager.

Chuck, if you want to meet with Matt or Nathan, I'll vouch for the total absence of grease. I didn't know there was an O-ring missing, too. Unbelievable.

Anyone who was there and saw it should be available to come along and let the Maxim boys know it was not a Maxim-um effort on that previous repair.

Anyone who was there and saw it should be available to come along and let the Maxim boys know it was not a Maxim-um effort on that previous repair. I decided I am going to go to Maxim and complain. If any of you guys/gals want to support me and you saw the dry, rusty splines please send an email message to chuck_capps@(remove-this)hotmail.com so I don't have to get into a 'my word against theirs' argument. Feel free to ignore this request if you are not comfortable with it. Dave, if you're willing to go along I'll visit them on your schedule. Thanks! Chuck

If, as currently forecast, it's still raining Saturday, that would be easy for me and shouldn't be so disruptive to their service department as to prevent our getting an audience. Evenings are fine, too. Let me know - I'm flexible.
Did anyone get any pictures?
