Inspired by Tundra’s post which I didn’t want to diminish.

The Indispensable Man

(by Saxon White Kessinger)

Sometime when you're feeling important;
Sometime when your ego 's in bloom;
Sometime when you take it for granted,
You're the best qualified in the room:
Sometime when you feel that your going,
Would leave an unfillable hole,
Just follow these simple instructions,
And see how they humble your soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it up to the wrist,
Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
Is a measure of how much you'll be missed.
You can splash all you wish when you enter,
You may stir up the water galore,
But stop, and you'll find that in no time,
It looks quite the same as before.

The moral of this quaint example,
Is to do just the best that you can,
Be proud of yourself but remember,
There's no indispensable man.

The first verse of f6john's post reminds me of the first
verse of Laura Story's "Grace"...

My heart s so proud
My mind is so unfocused
I see the things You do through me
As great things I have done
And now You gently break me
Then lovingly You take me
And hold me as my father
And mold me as my maker

But that does not diminish the effort one can make

Remember the story of the boy And the starfish

You must try

Within my earthly temple there's a crowd;
There's one of us that's humble, one that's proud,
There's one that's broken-hearted for his sins,
There's one that unrepentant sits and grins;
There's one that loves his neighbor as himself,
And one that cares for naught but fame and self.
From such corroding care I should be free
If I could once determine which is me!

Some here express very good sentiments and no one likes a someone who is full of themselves. But in a society that by its very nature squashes anything different and many are urged even to conform. Its even mandating and enforcing it with a brutality that no country that enjoys free speech should, to see the light of each person who is so different than his fellow man shining in a deeper way and in the uniqueness in the way he was made is a celebration of his creator.

No person is indispensable but each has a gift that takes courage and knowing oneself to fully bring this unique gift to the front and allow each to have the courage to use it.

Iron sharpens Iron,

The Bible puts is so eloquently when it describes us each as a member of one body. The hand, they eye, the foot and without every part would not function well if at all. But each not glorified over the other yet each in its own way with that unique gift and created contributes in a way only that one part can, and therefore receives the glory for that contribution. Each given honor and praise for making the whole better.

To long have many been forced to accept the status quo and squash individual gifts and freedoms. Each has to live fully without fear and using their gifts fully knowing that they will be accepted and cared for because of their contribution to this board or society as a whole. As long as it is done out of caring to bring their fellow man and those around them the knowledge, healing and understanding to be in a better place.

A good encouraging video on Trump and the spot he envisions for the US. He speaks about the inidividual and puts this whole topic in a way that relates it to the individual and yet the country.

The road less traveled.

https://youtu.be/tE9v_9mO5tk

It is not conformity that shines, in the lives of individuals.

Communism and religion, squashes individual freedoms and the US was built on the idea of freedom to be all you can be. Both for your own good and the good of those around you. Each has a path, each has to be committed and decide to shun evil and selfishness but devoted to shine because that is how you were made and its the country we live in.

Decide each day to be the best you can, regardless of what others say and seek the reward of your heavenly Father and all will be ok.

What imprint will YOU leave on the sands of time and history?

You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
