Fans of European motoring history are reeling today after Austria’s Top Mountain Crosspoint Motorcycle Museum suffered a cataclysmic fire on January 18, 2021. Nestled at the base of Austrian side of Timmelsjoch Pass—where Austria and Italy meet in the depths of the Alps—the museum was founded in 2016 by twin brothers Alban and Attila Scheiber as a way to show off their collection of classic iron.

Fighting fire in those conditions and in darkness is a tough task; everything that isn't frozen already manages to very quickly.  Men can only work for a short time before needing to be rotated out to warm up for the next shift on the line.
Too bad for those brothers' lifetime of work and passionate collecting. Cry

Hate to see it.
The Yankee Air Museum near at Willow Run burned down some years ago.
They were able to push a couple of antique planes out of the hangar, but much was lost and cannot ever be replaced. Shame.

Stopped in during my Alps ride in 2019, it was an amazing exhibition.  So sad that it's gone.
