So a guy pulls up next to me at a red light. He pushes the button and his window opens. I use to say he rolled the window down, but I haven’t seen a window crank in years. He looks the bike over and says that’s a nice bike. You don’t see them very much anymore. My dad had one waaay back when I was a little boy. He looked to be about 25. I did the politically correct thing and thanked him but my old ego wanted to B*tch slap him. As I rode away I felt like a decade had been added to my psyche.

As fast as the first 20 years of this century has rolled by, I feel like I’m running out to time even if I have 25-30 years to go.

I guess I'll be a total butthead and point out that 1981 was 40 years ago now...

Yes, but most people slow down so much they don't notice until it's too late.  Wink

It's funny how our body ages quicker than our mind...we just carry on as usual and gradually find out we can't quite do things the same way or at the same speed as  our mind has laid them out for us.

I like this song, sorta sums it up ...

Sandy,

Welcome to the club! I'm a sixteen year old boy trapped inside a seventy-four year old body... Trying hard to keep this physical 'vehicle' going so my spirit can continue the journey... Things are definitely changing, however, and apparently there is no going back... Let's make the most of it while we can!!!

Yesterday, We, my DW and dog,  were just about to end our daily walk when a older nice looking car pulls up besides us.  The little grey hair lady rolls down her window, says " Dearie can you tell we where a church is".   Dearie.    I was pretty sure I am as old as she was.   Though with baseball cap and sunglasses on probably hard to tell, other than pretty much white whiskers.   2funny

And yeah time goes by pretty fast when you get some years on ya.

I've always been one of the youngest members on this board. When I was initially active in 2002 or so, I was only 30! Now I'm back and I'm turning 49 this year.

It was weird when I was looking for a Valkyrie last year. In my head they were still "newer" bikes. It was reality check when I bought my '99 Interstate, "Hey this bike is 22 years old!"

My old 2000 Std was basically my first bike if you don't count the 1983 Magna V45 I rode around on for a couple of weeks before buying the Valk
