In 1965 Paul Harvey broadcast this on his radio station, I'm not sure if everyone on this board remember him, but the common age group in our club will remember him.
You can listen and read this broadcast, it's about 7 minutes long, but very interesting based on what's going on in the world today.  Paul Harvey died in 2009 one of the best news reporters of my time.. cooldude

Very good in light of what today is like.

It was very interesting one commentator said a very interesting thing. He said that the situation is not due to just criminals but those who are given over to satan. Since they don't care about their own lives only the power and money.

Thanks Don, that was a good one. Myself and about 6 co-workers used to listen to him everyday on our lunch hour. My best to you and the Lady.  Smiley

Even while trucking all over Our Country remembered most times to look for him noonish and early evening for-The Rest of The Story. And an Easily recognizable voice. He made me chuckle and laugh a time or five. And his sign off-Paul Harvey-Good Day.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I enjoyed 'the rest of the story' too! Paul Harvey was a good man, compare him to the dancing puppets posing as 'jurinal-ists' we have today and he looks even more magnificent. How far we have fallen in this country.

In the 60s when I would be at my father's sign shop, the radio would be
on. The things I remember coming out of it were good old time NASCAR
races and Paul Harvey...

Since the first time I heard him , I always liked him. I would listen to his scheduled program whenever I could.
Many years ago I was in a town on business doing an early morning walk. Sidewalks were basically empty.  A man walking towards me said god morning. I replied back with a good morning.  About three steps later , I turned and said "excuse me sir , are you Paul Harvey".  He turned and walked the few steps back and said yes , I am.  I said that I enjoyed his programs and was a fan , but I did not get pushy.
I thought of asking him I he wanted a cup of coffee , but a few minutes of talking and we said good bye.

Cool story!
He was great.  I bet that encounter made for a "good day" for you, and a great memory.

Don,

I remember that guy! I miss his unique perspective and always interesting style of delivery. My grandad had him on the radio every weekday during lunch back in the 50s when I was around his table.  WOW, that was back in the good ole days when news actually resembled news... Huntly - Brinkely, Walter Croncite... way before the 'news' degenerated into farceical propaganda... Hmmm...

Once upon a time on here, we used to have a guy who would comment on events in his own unique, pithy, style... He was good, too, and like ole Paul, he made a lot of good ole common sense... Haven't heard much from him in the last couple off years, either, and, frankly, I miss him! I've often wonder if perhaps he might have eaten too many 'Scooter Dogs', and they were weighting him down... Any idea?
